Is the only live is better is due to the amount of people.
How do the 2 compare as an actual service i wonder?
Maybe try it for yourself and see![]()
OMG...Personal Preference perhaps?
Yep, my brother in law has a PS3 so I have a fair amount of experience with both platforms.Have you tried both?
Kind of pointless when you haven't played Mass Effect 1, and therefore can't import your character and decisions made in the first game. Decisions made in the first game affect the story, and will therefore have an effect on ME2 and ME3.Nothing matters but the games at the end of the day. I don't believe it's a matter of opinion as to which console has the better exclusives. Many of the best games of this generation are PS3 only, and the only notable exclusives for Xbox 360 are Halo, Gears of War, Fable & Crackdown. Fable 3 is available on PC now anyway. Mass Effect 2 is coming out for PS3 in 2 months or so.
I know a bunch of people who own an Xbox 360. Nothing I've ever seen or played at their houses has made me wish I had an Xbox. But every single Xbox owner who comes over to my place immediately jumps into games that they can't play, like God of War or Metal Gear Solid 4. I can't understand how people think it's cool to blow R600+ on a single year of online play. I'd rather have another game. Cross game chat, which isn't currently available on PS3, isn't a big deal to me. I actually like the fact that the people I'm playing against in my game session aren't excluded from the in-game chat because they're talking to their own friends who aren't in our game. And I think the trophy system is way better than Xbox's achievements. Trophies differentiate your achievements and provide something more 'tangible'. Earning gold or platinum trophies adds value to your profile. A big number doesn't really mean much.
So right you have experience with both then list the differences between LIVE and PSN, surely having tried both there must be more than LIVE has more people.
Why is LIVE better apart from having more people?

As for some of the exclusives being available on PC, did you really expect anything different considering that it's MS involved? PC is a different platform and has it's own pros and cons - the cost of upgrading hardware more than makes up for the difference in pricing of the games. You also don't get to relax on the couch and delve into a multiplayer session with your buddies. This thread is exclusively for which console he should go for.
The point is there are great exclusives available for each console, and he should therefore experience both before deciding one way or another.
Mike Hoxbig said:I've already listed a few of them in this thread (more people wasn't the only one, more content being another). Cross-party chat and easier matching (as stated by Lupus) being another. BTW you don't even need to be a paid member to access all the content, the free account will do. You can find more differences between the two by searching for them, I'm not google
Imagine trying to play multiplayer only to find that there are only 10 other people online and 8 of them are already matched. XBL virtually guarantees that there are 100s of people online, but hey if you enjoy playing against 2 people then that's your choice
Well yeah dude must listen to you cause you own both consoles, so extensive knowledge of the subject is just going to come from you. Honestly I used to be like you with the 360 though, but then I got a PS3 and realised there is more to life then just harping on about the one console you bought, both are brilliant and if he was an ex-PC player the easier transition is actually the 360 not the PS3. Also you might have played ME2 with no problems but you missed out on a lot that importing your old character brings.

I spent weeks on ME1! As great as ME2 is, ME1 just has a certain feel to it. It feels like a real universe because most of the worlds are open-ended. The Citadel in ME2 is pretty much limited to a few locations, whereas in ME1 it felt like a living, breathing city. But I have to say apart from the annoyances in ME1, like having to deal with hundreds of picked up items you have to get rid off and the terrible framerate at times, the story is great and the ending is just amazing. I already forgot ME2's ending but the fist sticked. When you start the second game you know exactly why Shepard is a legend.
No it doesn't. You would come across as being a typical example of somebody who associates a gaming console with a playstation![]()
