PS4 reveal

I don't get this. The Playstation controllers have had the analogue sticks positioned where they are, for 16 years now, and have won awards for their design and impact. The opposite of the Xbox controller- IGN's "Blunder of the Year" when it was launched.

My fingers used to cramp up when playing PS2/3 for hours non-stop, while I've never had that issue with X360.

P.S. The bluder of the year award was for the original Xbox controller.

I have a question:

Will the PS3 controllers be compatible with the PS4?

The Xbox controller is universally praised for its ergonomics for a reason. Your left thumb doesn't have to reach halfway across the controller all the time.

Also, that award you mention is for the original controller.

Having said that, the controller alone is not going to save MS this time.

I speak under correction, but I believe they won't

Now that the PS4 uses x86 architecture I have a feeling it will use NTFS and support .mkv,.flac formats (crossing fingers) which eliminates the need for a BR player
I firmly believe in specialist devices for specialist functions. These all-in-one solutions almost always have flaws, and it's going to come back to bite if you're looking to save a buck.

HT - component system
Gaming - console
Media - media player
BR player - the only one I'm willing to compromise on, and say that the console can double up as one.

But this doesn't address the OP's point that the analogue sticks are in the "wrong position", if the controller existed for close to a decade prior to the original Xbox controller, nevermind the 360's.

Not disputing the great ergonomics of the 360 controller (and it wasn't what I questioned :)), but Sony have had their layout for two decades now. It would be incorrect to call it's layout as wrong...

Just because you've been doing something for a long time doesn't mean you are doing the right thing

That doesn't mean that Sony got it right though, just that they were too stubborn to change their design.

Reason I ask is the PS4 plays BluRays so not sure why you need a separate one.

Oh wait, understand now - your BluRay is drives your surround sound, etc.

Ah!

Lol, you took your time.

Personally I prefer having a standalone Bluray player anyway. I hate the PS interface when it comes to playing movies. Also, you have to buy another remote for that too.

If I remeber correctly, Sony Bluray players would play MKV files and 30mins in, it would stop with a piracy warning....So I personally would not trust the Ps4
