The next Xbox will probably have at minimum a BD drive as standard for a ton of obvious reasons. You can't take comments out of context (unless you're trying to start rumours

now considering the limits of current processors/gfx cards, so it's irrelevant for
this generation of console more so that both HD-DVD and BD were equally strong 3 years choosing one or the other
for a devices that was being designed for cost cutting was just a no no.
BD is now a (sort of) standard, the next gen consoles will be sporting 4-8Gb of RAM, so that extra space can actually be put to use. By the time the next gen arrive BD drives will cost the same as DVD drives, or have been replaced with something cheaper.
My expectation for all the consoles next gen is BD+, 8Gb RAM,
No HDD - but they'll have 32Gb+ flash on board.
