The Xbox One has to be more expensive than the PS4, simply because of Kinect (which is mandatory) . So i'm hoping the PS4 will at least be R1.5k-R2k cheaper.

For that price I would rather build a new PC (using a few existing components) and you don't have to worry about any DRM issues either.

Apparently the PS4 will come with PSEye too so they'll probably be the same

Thats what i paid for my 60gig. lets hope its the same price park, otherwise it's not worth it. Factor in what games are going to cost (although i am hoping the easier programming might = cheaper games)

CNET puts the prices at $399 and $349 respectively. But DRM's filthy hands may not go down well for Sony and MS.

With AMD's Kaveri APU and GDDR5 anticipated it would be interesting to see the specs pc wise. Might make sense to buy a playstation instead of a pc.

Considering that the 360 + kinect retails for 4k the One should retail for 5k maybe 5.5k but I expect the PS4 to be about R500 cheaper than the X Box

Well yeah, but thats unavoidable.

NES cartridges didnt work in a SNES, and Mega Drive cartridges didnt work in anything but a mega drive. The backwards compatibility that we have had for the past generation or two has actually been unusual in the history of video game consoles.
