PS5

I see the price for the PS5 digital edition has officially been hiked to R11700. Yikes, I wonder how many kids will even see a ps5 under the tree come christmas with the price being that high.

That sucks as it’s on discount just about everywhere at the moment. A disc version is R9400 in the UK currently.

Hopefully it will be discounted here as well at some point…

I was keen on picking up one of the Spiderman 2 limited editions but at R16k I'll give it a skip. I like the Spiderman games but not that much.

I thought there would be a sale to teh end of the year if they released the slim version ?

They might offer a slight discount but that would probably just bring it back down to the retail price of 2 years ago :ROFL:
 
Anyone play PS 5 online and are there local servers ? What games are most popular ?

I do. Need to be more specific for local servers as quite a few titles support it. Games I play on local servers are rocket league and rainbow six siege but theres loads of other mp online games that play well on international servers.

Just want to know if there are a lot of gamers on local servers and if international servers have lag or not ? Need to upgrade my pc or get a ps 5 in Nov so just curios as to hot the online scene is

Servers won't be platform specific as that's ip to the developer on where their games servers are located and will server all platforms. Most games are cross platform anyway.

Sony themselves do have local servers for their platform for downloads etc... as does steam and xbox if that's what you mean.

Can you search for Africa servers and find numerous SA players like counter strike or Dota ?

Server locations are game dependent, not platform. So you need to ask for specific games if there are local servers.

In some games like rocket league, yes. In other games like rainbow six siege, it's only that.

Pretty much as others have answered.

Depends on the game, not platform. Games like multiversus you can choose your server (including SA) The exact same way between steam and ps5, no difference. But this all depends on the game. if a specific game doesn't have SA servers then no platform will have them unless it's peer to peer.

Ahh ok yes but is there a list of how many games / players there are on SA servers ?
 
It's actually pretty cute how all the Xbox folks are frothing at the mouth for Starfield.

All I can say is, congrats. It's about time you had an exclusive that you can crow about :)

Nah, xbox has had many exclusives already that for me at least, rival playstation's exclusives.
Ori and the will of the wisps and Hi-fi rush were game of the year types for me.
If the activision deals goes through then crash and spyro are huge for me.

On the flip side.
Ratchet & clank rift apart, Astros playroom, God of war etc... are also huge for me.

My taste in games are a bit specific and I don't care much for games like Starfield which is a pass for me.
Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all have games that I enjoy so I'm happy.
