PS5

I'm still on the fence about whether to get this game or not, with the price being a major positive atleast, the server issue being the negative.

Decisions . . . Decisions . . .

It's mostly the matchmaking part that's broken anyway, if you have some friends to play with it works fine. I'm part of a discord where people just post their PSNs and have had no problem getting games like this. But yea I believe they are hard at work fixing it so will likely be resolved soon.

Edit: other issue is capacity at peak, so you might be waiting to log in

Any point playing Helldivers if you can't necessarily regularly suit up with a group of friends?

Do you mean playing the game solo or just matchmaking with randoms? You can do the easier difficulties solo but I'd say anything past 'medium' difficulty is going to be depressing as a solo player, unless you're the kind of person that sees it as a challenge. The game really was built for co-op from the ground up so solo is just not really worth it imo.

In terms of playing with randoms, that should get better as they fix up the matchmaking.

Damn bro, did you even get to play any lol? Servers hit another peak @ 450k yesterday.

BTW set the following in visual settings:

Depth of field: off
AA: on
Sharpening: 1.00

Eventually yes but I had to wait about 20 minutes or so and played for just under an hour.

That 450k players is very, very impressive.

With +/-75% of the players from Steam and the remaining 25% from PS, makes sense why the Sony CFO is pushing for multi plat which will most probably be day and date releases on PC. It just makes financial sense (throw in the $10 billion loss and it makes even more sense)

The days of complete exclusivity ending are nearing on both the blue and the green side (excluding Nintendo in my opinion).

And at this rate my next console will most probably be a PC (GamePass PC + PS "exclusives").

Is that why our lord and saviour Phil Spaghetti was port begging for HD2 to come to XB? Shem.

In his interview with GameFile, Spencer addressed the topic of Helldivers 2 not being present on the Xbox platform. He said, “I’m not exactly sure who it helps in the industry by not being on Xbox”. He seems to be implying that Sony could help Helldivers 2 become even bigger by making it available on Xbox.

Even with Xbox having slightly worse 1st party title catalogue then PS, they play more fair with making games cross platform - look at the blizzard/Activision titles they promise to still keep on playstation.
Sony on the other hand gatekeep so hard, don't give f*all to xbox. Maybe a pc port here and there but that's all

They have to keep them on PS. Their 70b spent turns into a 35b loss if they don't. Derp.

He doesn't know who it helps in the industry? Dum tnuc - Sony of course.

I wonder if he muses much the same with the "big" Xbox exclusives.

Slightly worse?

I'm just slightly peeing myself with laughter here....

Right, same people who benefited (or thought they would) from buying massive 3rd party publishers and taking games from other platforms...he's changing his tune (slowly but surely) because their strategy seems to have fallen flat

I personally think he has lost a lot of credibility. He changes direction more than a packet blowing around in a storm.

Wouldn't surprise me if he suddenly leaves to "pursue personal interests".

He's was right about a few things though, the entire industry in its current state is in the crapper. It's not unique to MS or Sony or Tencent...they are all suffering in their own respective ways. The only exception is probably Nintendo but they are not immune either.

GG PS5.
The PS5 is like the marathon runner who started with a sprint, while XBox are playing the long game.

Not really. Until xbox delivers on their promises, I feel both are currently underwhelming ito content delivery at present with sameness amongst titles but we’re only mid gen imo so the best is yet to come.
