PS5

I see people mentioning 2nd drop and 3rd drop. From what I saw previously, first drop was on release date. Second drop was supposed to be around mid December, 3rd drop now being end December. Anybody else seen info on when the actual drops are.

Makro just had their second drop while Takealot done their pre-orders for second drop a while back. Wish I knew about the Vodaworld one or would have been there on release date.

Yeah, on release day, people were waiting from early parts of the morning. And the rest were offered next batch with a free extra controller. Daaaam. Didn't even know until somebody mentioned it in this thread.
 
To everyone who has the PS5, if you can test, how is the audio quality when plugging a headset into the duelsense controller? The DAC inside the PS4 controller was horrible and now with them removing the optical port on the PS5, this will be my primary audio solution for a while so I'm a little worried especially for media consumption.

I played through the entirety of Spider-Man: Miles Morales while connecting my Sennheiser HD660S and had no problems driving them at all. Obviously not as good as being driven via a dedicated DAC/amp stack, but the controller had no problems. If you want to experience the 3D audio, you have to connect via cable to the controller unfortunately

I thought you could experience the 3D audio via dedicated usb dongle as well. Or have I got that wrong?

I see they have added a performance mode RT 60 FPS for Miles Morales in an update patch. Can you confirm it’s working? This is the kinda thing I was looking forward to.

Still waiting on my pre-order

I remember reading it’s only via a cable to the controller, but I could be wrong.

As for the new Performance RT mode, yeah tested and it works great. Game runs at a dynamic resolution with limited ray tracing, and reduced population, and it maintains 60 FPS.

I don’t think the retailers themselves know. Think your best bet would be to speak to the Disto’s themselves.

I think it’s more do with timing or cancelled orders that are throwing the dates off for the different release windows.

Well I was just thinking that the Pulse 3D has a dongle. So do you need to plug it into the controller to get the 3D audio?

Will definitely be picking up Mile Morales now after this patch. Thanks for the confirmation.

Yeah unfortunately can’t speak for the Pulse 3D headset, but I think they meant for every non-PlayStation set of headphones you need plug it in

Enjoy Miles Morales. It was a great story, although quite short compared to the previous Spider-Man game. Maybe look at getting the ultimate edition so you get the remastered version of Spider-Man too

Thank's for the info. The controller should be fine then for my needs until I get a better more permanent solution.
