honestly how can PS5 stock not be readily available in South Africa by now? The demand cant be THAT high, and if it is, why hasn't it been catered for by now? It's crazy.

Japan and North America have been prioritised. We get the scraps...

Just got off the line with a Makro call center lead. He informed me that they have received the stock at the distribution center and will be dispatching to stores. Not sure how true this is though.

I wonder why Koodoo is the company handling distribution of the PS5 as Sony in South Africa always used Ster Kinekor as I believe they have the contract to handle all Sony's consoles/games. Did not know that changed. It is still a mess thought. PS5 drop 3 from Takealot and still no email/sms or anything. Has anybody contacted Takealot for an update on drop 3? Was hoping to get the console before Christmas but doubt that is going to happen.

ETA on takealot was mid to late December when I ordered on 1st December. But people who ordered in November have the same ETA on the website. I might be 2nd batch, might be 3rd batch. No idea tbh.

PS5 has been set up and PS4 content transferred - which took about 30 mins.

Hi there, the stock has been dispatched to al our stores, as soon as the store has received it they will let customers know to collect.

I just received this SMS from Makro:
"Makro order update - Shipments of PS5 was delayed from the manufacturer but expected to arrive in-stores today. We will keep you updated on your order progress."

With a bit of luck the PS5 will be the stocking filler this year

Yeah, I get that much. But there's something in the Ts and Cs when paying that made me think I could get it by then. Besides, maybe they had a "Christmas surprise" promotion...lol, I'm being optimistic, I know.

They could have run out. Did you create the account, add to Wishlist and then add to cart? Maybe try that, that's what I did...albeit the first 2 steps I did last week, but try.

Got a call from makro saying that the PS5s are supposed to arrive yesterday. I called makro crown mines today and I'm told stock will arrive in the first week of Jan. Absolute crap fest.
