PS Portal Outsells Xbox Series X|S During Launch Week in Spain

Xbox isn’t exactly lighting up the sales charts at the momentespecially in Europe. It’s been a bit of a washout this year in countries like France and Germany, where Sony has seen PS5 sales explode by up to 143 per cent – while in October the Redmond firm witnessed a year-over-year decline of an extraordinary 52 per cent.

We know that in some countries on the continent, the Japanese giant is closing on 90 per cent market share against its rival – and in Spain, the Xbox Series X|S was even outsold by PS5’s handheld accessory the PS Portal during the week ending 19th November. It’s perhaps worth noting this was the portable’s launch, so it’s unlikely the feat will be repeated again.

It has arrived :)
I must say, untraining 25 years of muscle memory with symmetrical sticks is quite the challenge

You'll get used to it. That layout is far more ergonomic and easier on the wrists. Need to get one of those, each time I swap between Xbox and PS it's still a bit of a mindfsck initially...

Yeah. I always thought this config makes more sense from a comfort level.
I am properly impressed with the Nacon. Quality feel and custom setup is fun to figure out

Say what? I thought you had been brought up with the Xbox controller layout. No ways would I want to try a different set-up after so many years.

And before anyone gets agitated, I am not espousing one layout as better than the other. Just that I wouldn't willingly put myself through trying to adapt to something different after all this time. I tried the Xbox layout before and it just screwed me up.

Go take your Xbox tendencies to your thread ;)

Fully agree, thats why I prefer the DualSense Edge, its quite comfortable, I have have no issues. The XBox controller though . . . ugh!

Been on both since the 360/PS3 days and prefer the asymmetric layout. Feels more natural.

But I understand the point about being used to one or the other for years and suddenly changing. Would be an adjustment, not as bad as kb+m though...

The Portal is a niche device that has its market, people don't seem to understand that. It sold out pretty much instantly, that and the fact that XB is dying in Europe as a whole, not too surprising it put in good numbers in these countries, but I'm not really sure why they are tracking it as a console. Hell I'm even tempted to pick one of these up, especially since they all but confirmed cloud streaming is coming later

The Edge was obviously in the running, and would have gone with it. Until the morning that I was ready to pull the trigger and realise it only has 2 back buttons

Tempted to get one as well since the price isn't that bad at R3700 when it eventually lands here.

Took me about a week to stop hitting the d-pad when I switched to PlayStation.

It does kind of suck, as I have 2 pristine series controllers which will probably never be used again.

Should really just sell them
