PS5

ANy idea when the new slim PS 5 launches in SA ? I assume there is not much difference between the 2 with teh exception of teh size and maybe teh front ports correct ?

As I said, literally ANY gen 4 drive will work

Not that i endorse in anyway buying crap drives, and obviously no one has tested every drive on the market :)

It's coming around March 2024, and the biggest differences I can think of is that's 30% smaller than the original, has 4 plates instead of 2 and comes with 1TB of storage vs the original 825GB. Removal disc drive as well so it's the best of both worlds.

Wonder if it is wirth waiting ior buyinh a PS 5 now ?
 

Sony Appears to be Working on a New Version of the DualSense​


Sony seems to be working on a new version of the DualSense that would improve on the PS5 controller with some extremely helpful features.

Highlights​

  • Sony is seemingly developing a new version of the DualSense controller that can provide gameplay action hints by lighting up its buttons, shoulder triggers, and analog sticks, according to a newly emerged patent.
  • The experimental gamepad would feature a touchscreen instead of a touchpad, which would also be used for spelling out control hints in conjunction with the button lights.
  • The patent itself does not guarantee that the technology it describes will be commercialized, but it does indicate that Sony is interested in making PlayStation gaming more accessible.
Sony is possibly developing a new version of the DualSense controller that would be capable of providing gameplay action hints by selectively lighting up its button faces, as revealed by some newly emerged patent documentation. While there's no guarantee this solution will ever be commercialized, the underlying technology does promise to make PlayStation gaming more accessible should it ever reach the market.

Anyone else having issues downloading PS5 games? Constantly getting error code CE-107982-7. Bizarrely, PS4 games download without issue...
 
I'm new to console gaming I have always been gaming on PC, would appreciate some advice.

Now that my kids are bigger I'm looking at getting a PS5. But I will probably use it as well for racing games etc.

Which 4K 65" TV will go well with it?

Not sure if 120Hz is worth it?

The size depends how far away you're sitting.

And yes, 120hz is absolutely worth it. As long as you have the right HDMI cable to support, of course.

120hz is IMO a prerequisite these days.

One of the major things that is “part” of having a 120hz TV is variable refresh rate
