A Useful New PS5 Welcome Hub Widget Is Rolling Out to Some Users in Beta​

PS5's Welcome screen is what greets you each time you log into your console, and it's remained mostly unchanged since its introduction — but it seems Sony is readying a brand new widget.

Some users, presumably those signed up to PlayStation's beta program, have received an update to the Welcome hub, adding a new widget to the page.

The Recently Played widget, currently in beta, shows you some stats and info about the last game you booted up.

As we can see from the images, the widget provides a broad view of game progression, Trophy progression, time played, number of friends who play, number of screenshots, and number of sessions.

We imagine this update to the Welcome hub will roll out to everybody in the near future. Whether any other changes are incoming remains to be seen.

Stellar Blade Sequel Confirmed by Developer​

Now, Shift Up has quietly revealed that the popular action game will get a sequel, which could be out in 2026. According to a company presentation (via Insider Gaming), the studio already has several projects in the works. Among them, a “platform expansion” and a sequel to Stellar Blade are scheduled for sometime before 2027, as well as the previously confirmed action title codenamed “Project Witches.” This indicates that Stellar Blade 2 could appear between now and 2026. Plans could change, but this at least indicates that a proper sequel to the title is currently in development and seems to be progressing smoothly enough for the release to seem possible in the near future.

Sony may be gearing up to implement a toxic player detection system in PlayStation 5. According to a patent filed, the publisher is looking to crack down on “bad actors” in their games. The dystopian feature would use AI machine learning to analyze whether a user is being “bad” while playing on PS5 or other consoles.

That's the problem, its not an SA thing. Most males are like that across the world. Hell if a Ausi aint swearing at you, you know you gone and f'ed up.

The problem is that most females frown upon it, even my Mrs sometimes have issues when we raid and me and my mates start insulting each other.

Yea Bond looked good, very Uncharted-like though which surprised me.

Hi PS5 weirdos (I’m an Xbox nerd myself), can you please let this noob know if there’s any hack to get a cheap PS Plus subscription (want to get this for my son who has a PS5)? Looking at PS Plus Extra which seems all he’ll want now, with both a catalogue of games and new monthly games.

Oh and before you flame me, I had a PS2, PS3 and a PS4 before …

Why would anyone flame you?

Unfortunately there's no easy way afaik, but the easiest 'hack' is to wait for a discount, which you just missed during Days of Play, next discount is probably end of the year for BF etc. You can always do a month-to-month and make sure it lapses before then to get a possible 30% discount.

Anyone have the PS5 Pro, opinions? Louder than the original PS5?

Tempted for one for Death Stranding 2, should offer a great experience for Ghost of Yotei this year and Saros/GTA6 next year.
Been offered a good deal on my PS5 so it should only cost me R10k to upgrade.

No issues at all, whisper quiet, same as the original PS5

With PS6 launching in 2027 and that will be much faster than any PS5 Pro, why not wait?
