PSA: Sickbeard is out, Sonarr is in.

What are you guys running Sonarr on ? PCs ? Raspberry Pis ?

Run Sickrage on a Pi myself. Does the job well enough. Think I read something about Sonarr being resource intensive.
 
Since i moved from SickBeard to SickRage and the latest update things are much much better. i might give sonarr a try on a test machine to see if it works the same as SickRage.

I think if you're familiar with SB then Sickrage may be a way to go if you're lazy and don't want to learn a new UI as such.

Sonarr has differences but just do what I did: keep your Sickbeard/Sickrage install. Set up Sonar and add a show or two. try it out for a while and then decide.
I personally kicked Sickbeard out the door after 30 minutes of playing around with Sonarr, and then migrated everything.

Can you add an Indexer to Sonarr ? so you can use it for different shows. TV Rage and thetvdb does not have everything.
 
I looked at Sickrage since I use SB. Then I saw this and ran away screaming:

First we need to install Python

Run the Python 2.7.8 installer, install to any directory you want but for this guide we will assume you installed it to C:\Python27
During the install make sure to install this as well. (see image attached). We do this so when we want to use Python we do not need to specify the location.

Install Cheetah
Extract Cheetah 2.4.4 to C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages
Open a command prompt (Win+R, type CMD hit enter) and browse to where you extracted cheetah. This can be done by using the following command:

cd C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\Cheetah-2.4.4

Type the following into your command prompt window:

python setup.py install

Cheetah 2.4.4 is now installed
 
Heard of Sickbeard amd sickrage, what makes me sick is that I have no clue how to use this. I know I can by some magic use these tools to download stuff and play it on my TV. Now, if we can just get a "How To" somewhere.
 
Looks good, and unlike Sickbeard there's an easy to use OsX version, but I can't get it to connect to our local NZB sites. :o
 
Is there a guide to install this on openelec. Is it even possible?
 
So far so good, I just need an indexer apparently, what's a good one?

Runs better, Looks better, management is better, more options, easier to use. It even talks to SABnzbd so you can see download progress and even failures.

You can't even select an nzb to grab with sickbeard if it fails, what shíte is that? Sonarr allows you to custom select another nzb right in the interface.

It has also been grabbing the best quality nzbs and it's phenomenal. (I have ratings displayed in my SAB, integrated from OZnzb indexer - almost everything is rated 4 or 5 stars.)
(You even get a slider for the allowed sizes for SD/HD/BR/etc)

With sickbeard you never know what nzb it grabs and you just kinda hope for the best.... and if it fails you're screwed.

I'm in the Sickrage camp myself. Tried Sonarr but didn't impress me enough to move from Sickrage.

Subtitle support is a must for me too. Failed downloads work well too.

Indeed, seems that all Sonarr brings to the table above Sickrage is a pretty interface which I only see maybe once a month when I add a new show.

yea, I have the sickbeard thing mastered but don't have the time to play around and work it out for myself right now.

In fact Sonarr is way simpler, there are no post processing scripts or none of that shlt.

Sonarr > Settings > Indexers. Add your NZB indexers.
Sonarr > Settings > Download Client. Add SABnzbd as downloader.

Boom, done.

This is my stumbling block - I can't figure out how to add either of my two local NZB sources. :o
