It was around R140m a year when it was announced, so at face value this looks like an improved deal, but we can only tell when all the other factors are known, Dr Khoza has already said it's unlikely the club grant will increase, which is odd if you have more money to work with, but maybe they are just being frugal. What was the DStv deal worth? His type of football also suits CT City, but I doubt he would be the guy need for them to survive the axe, they need a fixer for the short term.Gavin Hunt sacked by SS. He's 60 so could have another few years. The CT City job seems like one that could suit him. His CV probably won't be attractive to the big guns now.
He will have to be careful with his next choice because even the local football scene can be ruthless, as Gordon Igesund has been unable to land a way back into the PSL for almost 10 years now despite his league titles. He paid the price for taking jobs with unstable clubs towards the end.
It's financial disparities, the gap is just too much to promote competitive football, Before Sundowns and Motsepe happened, we had a lot of top goalscorers in smaller teams, now Sundowns just buys everyone even if it's just for putting them on the bench for their whole career, bar them from playing against the team they bought them from.Outside of Sundowns, why is it that our teams score so few goals?
Over half of the league averages less than a goal a game.

With Sundowns doing that, some teams have now taken the stance of being development teams inside the PSL, their intention is simply to stay in the league, not be competitive and continue to rake in millions from Sundowns. Supersport that has been very competitive is most probably going to be relegated this year, because their whole business model was about selling players to Sundowns.
Stellenbosch is going to go the same route in a couple of years.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Sundowns having more money to buy players, but there is something very wrong if they are allowed to buy everyone of the best players, there must at least be a clause that limits the number of players a team can buy in a season, those who have more money can still enjoy the privilege, without necessarily being motivated by the need to weaken the league to stay competitive.
