Want to know how many PS4 players there are compared to Xbox live players in South Africa! And if indeed PS4's truly out sell Xbox's or if this is just BS spoken by fan boys ;P

Comment down below what console you're on; either PS or Xbox. :D

Have both.

XB Live wins hands down.

And now with XB1X, it's my go-to platform for cross-platform games.

PS4 Pro currently being used for exclusives, which admittedly has better exclusives than XB1...

I have both and ps4 have way more numbers on local servers. It can't be denied. Does it make it the best? I doubt but still the ps4 does have more local online players so I guess everyone should make their own decisions.

It's a question really depending on your point of view.

Sony have sold more units of the console over all, but the statistics seem to indicate very few of those actually buy and use a lot of games.

Microsoft have sold less units, but their consumer base is more hardcore and they've also actually made more profit than Sony as a whole so that should give you a loose idea of how many active players there are.

Bringing it down to SA specific stats is pretty much impossible but purely from a personal point of view I tend to see more Xbox Live players actively in multiplayer games than I do on my PS4.

As a whole though I find Playstation Network to be pretty **** compared to Xbox Live and then also the "free" games factor is split across three hardware platforms whereas the Xbox One with backwards compatibility gives you 4 games on your Xbox One every month.

Game Sharing also works a lot better on Xbox One so that's something to consider if you want to go that route.

I've owned both a launch PS4 and original Xbox One a bit later and now have a launch Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

By and large the PS4 Pro is only used for exclusives and the original PS4 is a broken piece of **** that sounded like a jet engine. Which is another thing that makes me wonder why PS4 sales are so high and if many of those weren't replacement consoles.

What local servers? The only game with local servers is Battlefield 1. Unless your entire statement was based on one game only?

So yes it can be denied.

Also with Azure coming we should see a lot more local servers pop up for the Xbox One due to it's ease of implementation.

There's no local servers for either platform.

If you mean that you see more local gamers, maybe. But I don't really care about that...

Yes Azure will be a game changer for xbox. The xbox one x is a better machine than the ps4 pro.

From the games I have tested. Bf4, bf1, cod ww2 and cod black ops 3 has more players. On xbox one I tried getging a local xbox game for days like the entire weekend but I failed it always matcges with internationals. On my ps4 I get a local match every night.

Ww2 on xbox was very active on launch but after that it died down pretty fast.

Granted I very rarely need to search for servers on the Xbox one and just jump into games from my friends list and find them full of locals.

On the PS4 for some reason trying to join friend's games is always problematic unless you jump into a game first and then join them. Guess it has to do with the pay PSN has left it up to every developer to do their own thing.

I've got both, PSN and XBL. Completely agree with what Sauron said above though!

Hoping the xbox one X brings back a lot of gamers.
Xbox looks and feels more premium tbh

It should because the one x is on another level that leave the ps4 pro way behind it. The price is a bit steep still though and that will certainly not help xbox's cause.

Xbox One X is the more powerful console but the PS4 Pro has VR support. My PS4 is basically just a media center to watch Netflix at the moment, but the exclusives are probably better. Since most of the Xbox exclusives are also playable on PC, rather just get a PC

No. Games will be plug and play for Xbox, and it will be supported for at least the next 5 years.

No fiddling with settings and hardware to get games to run 5 years from now. And definitely no ugly tower lingering around the lounge to spoil the aesthetics of my entertainment system...

I'm on PS4, but the only MP games I've played are Alienation, Hell Divers, Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, so can't really comment on that part of the experience.

The PS+ games are hit and miss, but I actually like what they give us. I would rather get something like Hell divers or Alienation than Battlefield or COD. I play shooters on the PC, so wouldn't even install them on the PS4 if they were free.

The PS4 exclusives is where it's at though. For a PC gamer like myself, even in the XBOX 360 days of real xbox exclusives, there was just nothing on that console that interested me that I couldn't get the same or better on the PC or PS.

When last did you play PC games? Things changed a lot since the windows 98 days.

PS4 but I don't play online.
Why I went that route? *Shrugs* Most friends have the PlayStation (for me, playing with friends means sitting next to them on a couch, peeping at their control to try see which way their penalty is going) and I prefer the exclusives. The XBox 1 X looks a great piece of kit though and if I didn't care about being married anymore I'd have both.
