public holiday throttling

I cant believe that in a country where we pay ridiculous prices for internet and a place where they just had a huge upgrade from Seacon, that IS and other providers cant unthrottle the speeds on public holidays, i suppose its another way that they can get one more up on us the consumer

When I had dialup, I thought that Telkom would count holidays as "Call more time", and ran my internet for 4 days in a row thinking it'll only be R7.

Got a nice R1000 + phone bill.

You'll probably find that the cost of implementing a Public-Holidays-Knowledgeable system is simply too excessive, so it's probably better that they don't.

Telkom used to have such a system for dial-up ...

Come to think of it, Telkom also had single call cost for unlimited time on a call on same exchange!
