That's the crux of the matter, what was she demoted for? She claimed she took the lower position because she's "passionate about the constitution". :wtf:

Public Protector nominee Mkhwebane on State Security payroll, DA claims

Mkhwebane is ready to be Public Protector - EFF
Cape Town – Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane is ready to take up the reins at the Public Protector's office, the EFF said on Wednesday.
And they would add their votes to make sure she gets the job, the party said.
The National Assembly will on Wednesday afternoon vote on Mkhwebane's candidacy, before her nomination is sent to President Jacob Zuma for approval.
So far, the DA is the only party that seems to be against nominating Mkhwebane for the post.
EFF acting national spokesperson Fana Mokoena on Wednesday said the party was impressed by Mkhwebane and would be voting for her.
"The EFF believes that of all the candidates that were interviewed for the position of Public Protector, Advocate Mkhwebane demonstrated readiness to excellently perform the function of a Public Protector."
Spy allegations
Her non-association with political parties and attention to detail were some of the qualities that had impressed the EFF.
Mokoena said she should be given an opportunity and that her integrity and values wouls be tested when she was in office.
The party was aware of the allegations that Mkhwebane was a spy with close ties to Zuma, they said.
This follows the DA's claims on Tuesday that Mkhwebane had worked as a spy while stationed in China.
"The EFF chooses not to believe the secret agent allegation and proximity to Mr Jacob Zuma until practical and sound evidence is brought to our attention," the EFF said on Wednesday.
Other parties, including the National Freedom Party and the African National Congress, have also thrown their weight behind Mkhwebane.
NFP chief whip Nhlanhla Khubisa told News24 on Wednesday that they would be voting for Mkhwebane.
They supported her as the best candidate for the job.
60% endorsement required
The ruling party on Wednesday reaffirmed its intentions to vote for Mkhwebane.
ANC chief whip spokesperson Moloto Mothapo said that she was fit and proper for the position.
"Our principled support for Advocate Mkhwebane is based on her excellent credentials which meet all the constitutional and legal requirements for the position. She is a fit and proper person as prescribed by the law, a brilliant legal mind, a highly experienced manager and has displayed remarkable depth and understanding of the issues pertaining to the office of the Public Protector during the ad hoc committee interviews."
The DA said they would oppose her candidacy because she had little or no practical experience to justify such an appointment, when compared with the other four candidates.
They said the Public Protector could not be seen as even remotely connected to the State Security Agency, where Mkhwebane previously worked as an analyst.
Mkhwebane's name must be endorsed by 60% of the MPs on Wednesday.
