I see this happening all the time, as Softaculous inserts a "wp" in the Directory field before installation, and many folks don't realise that they need to remove it.
Unfortunately there's no easy way (for a newbie) to move a Wordpress site from one directory to another. i.e. from /wp to /
Here's your best/easiest bet:
1) Create another Wordpress site using Softaculous, but this time remove the "wp" from the "In directory:" field.
2) Once your new installation has completed, go to your old Wordpress' site's admin section and install a plugin called WP Clone.
3) After you've installed & activated WP Clone, click on WP Clone on the left and click Create Backup.
4) Once the backup has completed, copy the URL provided.
5) Now go to your new Wordpress site's admin section and install the same WP Clone plugin.
6) Click on WP Clone on the left, select Restore Backup and insert the URL you copied previously.
7) Click Restore Backup.
Done.
Edit: Please do not consider moving files around or changing the root directory of your website etc. as others have suggested. Wordpress is database-driven and the URL of your site is stored in database entries. Simply moving files around will break your website.
