FOUR BOYS SUSPENDED OVER HOSTEL RAPE ALLEGATION

The four pupils charged with the rape and assault of another pupil have been suspended from school, pending an investigation, Beeld reported on Tuesday.

"The pupils involved received notice of suspension and an order to appear before a disciplinary committee. They have also received the charges," said Sydney Stander, education department spokesman.

The four -- two 18-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old appeared in court on Friday in connection with the rape and assault of a hostel pupil during apparent initiation at the Agricultural High School in the Northern Cape, and were granted bail.

Stander said the school governing body must follow due process relating to the alleged attack, and is the only body which can take disciplinary steps at school level.

The school's process is separate to the criminal charges and procedures.

It's kinda sad that it took a week for them to be suspended after committing such an inhumane crime. This is why I hate the educational department.

They should have been thrown out on their asses immediately.

Far easier for parents to blame rock music and video games than take responsibility.
 
People who do these things has had it done to them. Isn't that how the circle of abuse goes?
Or are they just born with a horrible gene that makes people into serial rapists, killers and torturers?


This blows my mind. Why the fsk did nobody stop them?

But when its a white victim and black perpetrators, then its genocide, and the "the assailants just happen to be black and the victim white" doesn't apply. It all depends on which media. Face it. Its South Africa. Its always about race.

Pretty much this. Everyone is kicking and screaming about it not being a race issue (and I agree that i don't think it is one), but if the roles were reversed we'd have Steve Hofmeyr and all his fans baying for blood and proclaiming it as a sign that white genocide is at hand.
 
Don't know why in this day and age ANY form of initiation is allowed AT ALL????? Its crap. Screw the "done in good spirit" nonsense. No such thing. You have no idea how making kids do embarrassing things affects them. Just let the kids be. They are at school/varsity to learn. They made the first cricket/rugby team. Let them play the damn sport.

Listened to the mec talking about this earlier today. She said during the investigations its clear its not a racial attack, there were both black and white involved, and infact, a few white boys tried to stop it before hand. She also called out the media on how it was reported to just get sales(front page news/click baiting etc).

It was on the breakfast thing on SABC2 (TNA/eskom/sabc thing). I'll try find a copy of it somewhere, must be an online version of it
