PVR Software Update - Remote Control Problems

Yes it can be done. Just follow instruction in my previous post.

So I get to the green screen ... then how to enter 4 digit number?
No remote (the actual problem at hand) ... not possible to enter number.
So without remote, factory reset can not be done?

:D Oh yeah... That is unfortunate. Sounds like you'll have to take it to the MC agents.
 
I've been having the same problem. Will try the suggested fix and see what happens.

What do you mean by RF settings? I know about the XtraView Menu.

Does this effect series recordings Must they be re-set? And other (non-series) recordings for future dates?
 
Slightly off topic: About a couple of weeks ago I suddenly noticed that my Menu was spaced different if that is the correct term...it looks like channels were added or moved as my usual channels were not on the same "levels" as before when I could just scroll straight there. This is very frustrating as now I have to LOOK for the channels I usually browse.

Also the font looks different: smaller and darker? Make any sense?

Noticed this too. Have given up on contacting MC to find out why/when things have changed...

the rf settings is the uhf channel the decoder transmits to if you connect any tv to the decoder via the rf cable (as opposed to direct via hdmi / av etc)

and yes the series based and future recordings get lost you have to reset.
 
Thanks Quantum Theory. Your method seems to have worked. It wiped all the scheduled recording list but left the recordings intact. The wife was not very happy with me.
 
Thanks, your fix worked! Saved me from having to constantly reboot the pvr to stop the issue :)
