Quadcopter/Drone Thread

Do you have any?
I just recently ordered a lot of stuff again. I have a 450 size quad thats been out of action for 2 years and one of those mini toy ones that I still fly.

I just ordered a zmr250 kit as well as a few flight controllers, motors, esc's etc etc to rebuild my old 450 size and 2 new mini toy ones to fly around the house for practice.

I still need to decide on the fpv camera, tx, rx, screen etc but I need to practice the flying a bit more before I start flinging all that money through the air again.

No videos though :whistling:

Ps if you want to get into these things get one or two of these to crash before trying the real thing they are quite fun: http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-H8-...4G-4CH-6-Axis-RC-Quadcopter-RTF-p-975808.html

Currently using offices Phantom 3, went filming today :p

I've got a Parrot Mini-drone I fly around the house. Crappy camera though.

I'd love to get something bigger

A huge chunk of PE is a drone no-fly zone.

Unless approved by the SACAA, DO NOT fly/operate Remotely Piloted Aircraft or toy aircraft:

  • Near manned aircraft
  • 10 km or closer to an aerodrome (airport, helipad, airfield)
  • Weighing more than 7 kg
  • In controlled airspace
  • In restricted airspace
  • In prohibited airspace.
  • Do not fly/operate Remotely Piloted Aircraft, or toy aircraft higher than 150 ft from the ground, unless approved by the Director of Civil Aviation of the SACAA.

Whats happening there?

We've been asked to stop flying our "park flyers" before because visiting pilots were seeing our planes on their radar near the Swartkop air base.

If you stay under 1kg you are a park flier which is much less restricted.

I have a Syma x13 (small entry level quid - no camera.) its fun but the battery only lasts 5 minutes on a charge.
