Qualcomm's new server chip will take on Intel

Good joke. The grasp Intel has on this market is going to take many years to break.
 
Sure it will take years - they must know that. Things get interesting when Microsoft releases Windows on ARM. The client version is weeks away. The server versions come next year.

People forget that Windows NT is architected to support different CPU architectures - that's why it has a HAL Hardware Abstraction Layer) right from the start. Anyone remember NT on the DEC Alpha?
