I went through the same exercise a few months ago, and I reached the conclusion that any non-MS controller sucks to some degree. The exception is the Razer Sabretooth but that'll run you close to or over R1k if you can find one, at which point you way as well buy an XB1 controller. I eventually settled on a wireless Speedlink Torid that cost me somewhere around R500; about half as nice as the XB1 controller for half the price. They do make a wired one, called the Xeox if I recall, that you should be able to find online.

any issues ?

Considering the price, no - it just objectively doesn't feel as nice in hand as the MS controllers, and the switches probably aren't of the same quality. Windows 10 does even recognise it as an 'Xbox 360 Controller for Windows'.

I weighed the options for a good few days, but I couldn't justify the R1k spend given my occasional gaming. I also searched high and low for a 2nd-hand MS controller, but those I found were all worn well past their best. 6 months later I'm satisfied with the Speedlink, but I suffer no delusions that the MS controllers aren't measurably better. It's the nicest of the 3rd party ones I did see though, again excepting the Razer. The Logitechs and others I saw were all universally awful.

I was in a similar boat a while back. Was really unsure about what to get. In the end I just took the plunge and bought this.

I used to have a wired Xbox 360 controller, but I got the hell in with the cable. Wireless FTW.

I am a fan of the Xbox controllers. Good build, and they're comfortable to use.

Just get the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller for Windows. They're great (and cheap).

have you bought from them before ?

They are the same blokes who started Takealot, so they're reputable. I bought my controller through them because they had it at the cheapest I could find.

No complaints, other than the returns procedure not being as painless as Takealot.

I remember the days when you could buy the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows at BT Games for R375. Cheaper on special.
