Where could one get a real Quality stereo 3.5mm cable? Length, 3m?

I am not talking about the cheap junk that comes with 1yr warranty for R50, I would like a good quality cable that lasts a long time.

Won't make a difference. Literally, it won't... There's not enough information for it to start giving you crappy sound, unless you passing it from your pc to a sound system that costs like 70 grand... and if you notice a difference you have one well trained ear...

Its an analog signal, so it will literally make a difference. ;) More so if its a long cable. But yeah, you're right you probably won't hear it.

Sounds to me that OP is after a rugged cable more than a good sounding one (lol) though.

tbh I think they'll all be rubbish since the pro gear is all 6.35mm. Plus those you can re-solder as needed.

The main thing I can hear, is when these cables start to distort, and channels start going off completely.

This deteriorating seems to happen over time, even if the cable isn't moved...

That being said, anyone know of a Quality cable that doesn't come with a built in self destruct option?

How loud do you listen? :)

How will the cable be used? What are you connecting to, cable length, etc.

Generally best to go visit your local music shop (as in musical instruments), they normally have cable on reels there and you can get it cut to a specific length - and you can see what kind of quality it is at the same time.

3m, not loud but decent... and I do have a critical ear. But the majority of cables don't seem to like being moved at all, even if they aren't moved, they break and start distorting, or the entire channel just stops working.

o_0 Yeah I don't think any brand of cable is gonna fix your problems. Cables don't just break...you're doing something wrong.

I've never experienced deteriotation over anything up to 5 years and I usually lose or replace my stereo cables by then! :D

Which equipment are you using to listen to the audio?

I've searched high and low for years for this and found little. HFX Systems made one for me using Neutrik angled jacks and 10m of mic cable - was R400 IIRC. RS Components has a few Neutrik jacks for much less $$$, but you'll have to solder them yourself, and find a suitable cable - not too thick or it won't fit into the strain relief. Now 6.3mm jacks are another story, you can get whatever you want easily.
