I have phoned Vodacom Data support and they have quoted the following prices to me and I would like to know if this is the new prices for the different contracts with Data card or USB Modem:

3 Gig Package = R749.00
5 Gig Package = R1049.00 both include modem.

Also I would like to find out which of the modem will be the best seeing that I use a Laptop and a Desktop.
What is the Pros and Cons of the different modems. I belive that the USB modem is a bit of a problem in terms of unplugging it everytime that you are finish and plug it back in when you want to use it again, otherwise if you leave it plugged in and want to use it again you have to re-bootyou PC.

You'll find the new pricing on the web. If you move between different systems and especially if one is a desktop, I'd go for the E220 USB modem.

Unless you need an external antenna, then you'll need a card with the relevant antenna socket.

But the USB modem does not require a PCMCIA adaptor for the PC (drivers often an issue), it's 3.6Mb/s ready and it looks cool. I only use this modem nowadays.

Thanks for the advise. If you talk about drivers issues, what kind of issues do you point out. I am using Windows XP SP2 on both Desktop and Laptop. Was thinking about Vista but that have to wait at this moment.

He means driver issues for the adaptor I think, there won't be a problem with XP drivers for the E220, got it installed in less than a minute.

Thanks you very much.

One more question. What Anti-Virus and Spymware etc. software does Vodacom prefer, their users must use?
