Quote below. Question concern GoBig special users:

What happen after conversion. Possibilities:
a. SIM will be still locked to 8ta as it is now, or
b. SIM is not locked to 8ta, and then:

It will require GoBig user to do manual network search and force device to use 8ta? What happen if device suddenly picks-up MTN network, it will be billed R1/MB or just refuse to connect?

I can predict lot of mess because of this issue.

Hi all!

8ta will be enabling all SIMs to enable use of either network being 8ta only, MTN only or automatic switching.

This has to be set manually by the user on his/her device.

In other words:

•When the device is forced to use the 8ta network only - you will be simulating any of the promo packages (10GB internet 5 promo/2+1GB promo/60+60GB promo).
•When the device is forced to use the MTN network only - you will be using data and voice on the MTN network.
•When the device is set on Automatic - you will be switching between the 2 networks for voice and data traffic (btw - promo packages will only use the 8ta Network.

Hi sajunky!

GoBIG or promo users will not be affected as stated in the first bullet point
you will be simulating any of the promo packages (10GB internet 5 promo/2+1GB promo/60+60GB promo).
.

This means that your option a. applies:
a. SIM will be still locked to 8ta as it is now

Hi there

By simulating - we are referring to how the promotional data offers operate which is - solely using the 8ta network and not roaming on MTN.

Hope this clears things up.
