When are we actually going to see min. of the meeting?

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

I couldn't help but noticing the definition of CUG changed from Concerned User Group to CLOSED User group. To my mind there is a major difference in meaning between these two definitions. It could be interpreted the Concerned UG represents a wider group of MW users, typically the users of this forum, whereas the Closed UG only represent themselves and screw the rest. In actual fact the way that Sentech put a spin on the CUG meeting, it is strongly implied that the CUG respresents a larger group of users than just themselves.

Whereas I fully support the attempt of the CUG (the Concerned one) to better the service provided by ST on my behalf, I'm not so sure about the Closed one. The closed one has nothing to do with me, and they can do and act exactly as they please. But then I don't want to hear from ST's spin machine that they represent me.

It is however blatantly clear that ST used their PR spin machine to negate the efforts of the CUG, however noble they might have been. I hope the CUG (concerned or otherwise) has some plan B to counter this blatant disregard of ST of any reasonable level of ethical behaviour.

yes they do.. thats the whole point (and part of it is not making the details available)

the myadsl forum users called it a closed group while also forcing the concerned UG to keep quiet. it is not highly secretive but this is a highly public forum (trust me on this) and posting things on here often has effects not taken into account. This is something some users have not thought about and effectively made the concerned UG close its doors to the forum (for now at least)

in summary its Concerned NOT closed

Yup, I thought as much. ST probably monitors this forum very closely to find any snippet of information that can be used against their "distractors". So it is a good strategy to keep it quiet for now. But some damage have been done unfortunately. That is sad, but this is the way that this game is played. I would urge that we the users give the CUG the "benefit of the doubt", and hold off for a while until they can implement their response. If that doesn't work, the only other viable solution (for me anyway), would be to cancel and let ST shove their modem and service where it hurts most.

If ST was only half as effective in their technical abilities and CRM as they are in their PR department, we might have a decent service.

Lets just say having 20 odd ppl - who have work and family commitments - involved in a usergroup means any action takes time to get everyone together, and get everything sorted.

Well if you don't have time to be involved in a consumer group then maybe it would be better to allow others who do have time to participate rather than shutting everyone else out and then trying to do more than you can handle alone. Every day of silence is another day that strengthens and reinforces the perceived truth of the message in the latest Sentech press release in the public eye. I'm sure you have good intentions, but that's pointless if you simply don't have the time to carry them out.

/tumbleweed rolls by
people are (I think) tired of complaining and getting nothing done. In my personal capacity I think its time for action (except I dont have time ffs) [:(]

Yeah, what is being done about the press release, even if it wasn't an official Sentech release, it certainly spun their way.

Surely it would be easy enough to issue a brief release stating that a number of users country wide remain unhappy with the service (and the Orc recycling).

or is CUG simply going to fade away........

I've got an abacus to hand to the kid on the tricycle (faster than Sentech)

Lewstherin, it's not a flame, it's a genuine valid input and I'd appreciate a proper answer not a brush-off. I myself have a tendency to overcommit myself and sign up to things that I actually don't have time to handle, and I eventually realised that I don't do anyone any favours that way because it never works. It's been quite some time now since that meeting with Sentech and since Sentech's massively distorted press release, and all we hear is that the CUG is "planning something" but that they "are too busy" and "have their own lives you know". If that's really the case then at some point one must simply be realistic and pass the baton to someone else. I don't know though because we're getting so many mixed messages about the CUG here.
