Hi Guys,

so I Planning to do a service on my picanto and I wanted to now from MYBB what brand/make of oil I should use?

also I wanted to ask, is it a good idea to mix oil? or use different brands?

I have a 5L bottle I used last time, and I believe there should be another 2 or so litres in it, (clean unused)
and Im thinking to buy those 500ML cans and add enough to make 3L in total.

is this a good idea?

mileage is 115000, what else should I think about changing? tbh not sure if I need to change gearbox oil?
or anything else?

Read the user manual, it should tell you what service level you are at and what needs to be changed.

TBH,
dont have one, so I thought id try get a general idea from the community...

what usually should be changed?

Whatever the manual says should be changed...

Get one.. it will be different for different cars.

no stock of the manual at kia, I drive the older picanto, so they dont have its manual...

but as a general rule? or for a similar car like a atos or older i10, with the g4hg engine
as its the same in those as mine...

Oil, Filters, Plugs..

you MAY need to do your cambelt and such as well..

This is why you NEED to get the manual if you are planning on doing this yourself.

imho - if you're asking advise on here on how to change oil eg2505... Rather get somebody knowledgeable to assist the first time around.
While that little gem of a car has been the topic of many entertaining threads - I would loathe to read on Thursday how you had to Uber to work because you couldn't manage to fill the motor via the dipstick tube.

Tell us more about the Picanto. We need more info about it

its going for the moment, want to sell it ASAP, just need the job situation to stabilize....
am happy to have it as unreliable as it sometimes is.....

at least I not paying it off....
but it needs a bit of TLC , need to get it serviced, as last service was at 105000 and its now done its 10K

so Ill pop by my favorite mechanic to change plugs and filters, but I wanted to know about oil,
is there a brand I should use, last time I used shell, but not sure if its right for this car,
and if I buy those small cans and add up oil, will that be bad?

Try and go for a full synthetic I suppose? I think most of the oil we can buy here is something like 10W-40 or 0W-40 or something like that.

Dont complicate your life. Its a stock standard picanto.Just use the recommended grade of oil that the service manual says.
