Queuing for weeks for an iPhone 6

Most of them are probably in it for the money or the publicity.

I'd camp out for a couple weeks for $6000 (3 seats @$2000 each) if I was younger.

And run the risk of losing your current job? No thanks.

That's to say they actually get the $2000 a seat. No doubt they get bartered right down.

"The 25-year-old music producer from New York…" which is about as employed as an actor-slash-waiter in NYC :p

It's NYC - people will probably pay that.

Pretty sure none of them have those at least not meaningful ones otherwise they wouldn't be this retarded.

I like my iPhones as much as the next oke...when upgrade time comes around.

Exactly. I'm sure you're not retarded enough to camp for the next one. You can wait two weeks for yours to be delivered to you via a courier. :p

I will never understand people standing in queues...(within reason it is understandable) waiting for ANYTHING.

So let me get this straight, people will pay more for a spot in the queue than what the actual phone is worth ($900, overpriced)?

And it's not even a nicely specced phone? I will give Apple credit on one point, they know how to market their rubbish.

And of course, the sheep just line up weeks in advance, ready to get fleeced.

I also used to think that way until I got to wait in any queue in joburg. The sheer amount of people in that one spot is overwhelming in the beginning but making friends is very easy in joburg (misery loves company mostly). :p

What's wrong with the specs of the phone?

I have a perfectly good 5S. I can wait another year or so for upgrade time.

Just really stupid.

iOS 8 doesn't look much different from iOS 7, so maybe it's people with empty lives who want some attention?
