Hi Ladies n Gents,

So my question is what quick, easy and cheap lunches can you guys recommend for when the end of the month comes, and cash is tight?

Or any meals really that fit this criteria...

2 packets of 2 minute noodles (maggi preferably) and a can of tuna, mayonnaise and cheese if you prefer.

That's a quick cheap lunch for me.

a loaf of bread.

a slice of polony.

a slice for a loaf?

nah rather go half a loaf - R3.50
100g polony R3.50

That is just under 1 USD!

Plus you get to eat the cool parts they chemically washed off the bones, YummY!

This, except replacing the mayo/cheese with a can of tomato mix. Also lots of pepper & parsley.

Building a massive salad with butter beans as a base also works nicely.

Pretty sure its mechanically recovered, not chemically. Though the colouring of that stuff looks suspiciously chemical.

I'm not a tomato/relish fan Havoc.

I only eat tomato sauce with hot dogs or boerewors rolls :p

To each his own. I'd do the heavy cheese thing too if I didn't get acne from it. :(

Egg fried rice is very cheap - it just uses leftover rice. Let it sit overnight, then the next day fry the rice in oil and crack an egg there, and add whatever you have. Season it with coriander and soy sauce. Lovely.
Roast potatoes are awesome and cheap. Add tuna mayo or baked beans and cheese, and a dollop of butter.
Stock up on dry pasta and tomato paste packets... you can always find something to make by combining those 2 things with whatever is in your fridge.
