Quick, Easy n Cheap Lunches

People please be careful with left-over rice. Don't take chances on it...its cheap to make new rice & can be very dangerous. This is especially true for small children. Nuking it in a microwave will not make it safe (it does help though).

Nonetheless if you know how old it is & was stored in fridge & you microwave it then it can be an acceptable risk.

leftover rice.

:erm:

2 minute noodles, but forget the pack in sauce. Instead crack an egg and boil it with Aromat, lunch ham, tomatoes, spices, basically whatever you want. It tastes much nicer.

a few slices of toast. lots of cheese grated on top, with mixed spices and peri peri, maybe a few gherkins chopped up or jalapeno chillies... then stick in microwave for 2 minutes... yummy mini pizzas :)

if you really feeling broke you can trying sucking someone elses fingers at KFC.

My best friends favourite

Golden syrup + sardine sandwich
Then kidneys + custard for dessert ;-)

Make yourself a big breyani and keep it in the fridge, cold breyani is actually very yummy or you can heat it up. It's pretty cheap to make if you buy those bags of chicken pieces.

Building a massive salad with butter beans as a base also works nicely.

I have never understood why people use the word 'build' in connection with food. Building a salad, a pizza or a burger just sounds wrong.

How about 'prepare', 'assemble' or 'make' ?

I know, I get annoyed by strange things :)

On a Sunday you can make up a batch of rice, pasta and cous cous as your carb base. Then during the course of the week just chuck in the leftovers with whatever sauces you feel like, or maybe a herb dressing, garlic mayo etc. It requires 3 pots, 20 minutes of your Sunday while you wait for the F1 to start and the beer to kick in, and a tiny amount of effort on your part. Roast up a large pan of veg too if you want it healthy - the veg will keep for a week in the fridge...
