We're running QuickBooks 2003 for a small farm tuckshop.
And it's dog slow for some reason.

All we do is add stock, invoice and then check the debtor balances every month.

I've looked at newer QuickBooks but it's all online subscriptions.
Is the another non subscription option?

Dunno, free 30 day trial and R200 per month starting price. Not sure if it’ll do the trick.

@waynehooper any offline options these days?

Wave Accounting, it is online, but starter package is for free

EDIT: not sure Wave is supported in ZA, but Zoho is also free and is supported in ZA

It's 21 years old...that should be your fist clue. Lemme guess...you're running it on XP Home?

indeed, in fact that reminded me Wave actually redirects you to Zoho if you register from an unsupported region, my post above needs an edit, I'm actually not sure Wave works in ZA
Pretty sure I tried wave for myself and could not sign up due to ZA

I use PayPod. South African company, it does what it needs to do. Cheap as chips also

The developers give me piel vibes tho. Not really helpful

Unfortunately they have discontinued Xpress Startup. Cheapest offline version is now R730 per month.

Sage Online Invoicing (Start) is R200 per month and will work for what they want to do - If the Quickbooks is the UK version Cloudconvert will be able to convert the data as well (free)

Complications are:
1. There's no internet at the shop.
2. The people who use it must be trained like parrots. They don't know what a browser is.
