Quickest line installation ever!

Phoned telkom to order a new adsl line, they said it will take 6 to 8 weeks for them to come set it up...they just arrived now to put it in!!!

They also quote me 6-8 weeks and it was installed within 8 days (SS in Cape Town), including 2 confirmation calls beforehand and a follow up call to make sure it was working. Seemed to be a contractor, not Telkom themselves, but I was (sort of) impressed, even though I'd only budgetted for the installation cost 2 months later....;-)

I knew they were gonna screw something up...i asked for a 384k and they installed a 4096k and half the info is wrong

Maybe they'll only charge you for 384k

That's probably why it was so quick, the other company's probably been waiting for months!

figured it out...my line IS still coming. Our current isp had GIVEN us a free 4096k connection. Pretty cool...but we still waiting for the isp to be setup.

Well, perhaps I can make it into the top 10 now with these 2:

About a year ago, a client of mine in Blouberg, Cpt received their line 7 days after the order was placed. Then I thought wow, untill 2 weeks ago: A client of mine in Jeffreys-bay received their line 4 days after the order was placed.
I ordered the upgrade on the Monday and the converion was done by Thursday morn 10am
In fact the telkom tech got to install the line even before I could get an adsl modem there.lol

Anyone else that can beat 4 days?
