Quickphos and moles

Has anyone used these Quickphos tablet to get rid of moles? I can't find a lot of info on the internet but the person who recommended them to me said make a hole in a fairly new tunnel, put a tab in, cover with crumpled newspaper to seal the hole and cover with soil.

I've sealed off half of my grass two weeks ago with a temporary fence so my dogs can't get in, and now I'm convinced they are safe I'm ready to use the tabs. It looks like the tab reacts with the soil and it turns to gas, but how long will the soil be poisonous' for? In other words, if I don't see any activity for a few days, how long before I can take the temp fence down so that if the dogs do go digging there they won't be affected?

Any tips or tricks or advice please feel free to comment. Best time to plant a tab, morning or evening etc.

Sorry so negative but this stuff looks seriously toxic with no indication whether the affected area would ever be safe for your dogs - or any other living thing around the affected area, including your grass roots.

We get an occasional mole every year which tends to move off after a week or so. We just spread the molehills around and new grass quickly grows through it.

Maybe I'm being overly paranoid but this screams 'nope' to me :

Store under lock and key and out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. PROTECT THE PREPARATION AGAINST WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. Phosphine is inflammable. Keep away from sparks and flames. Keep away from inhabited areas.

ANTIDOTE:
No specific antidote is known.

Yeah, I read that and this is why I'm reluctant to use it. Someone suggested it to me and now I bought it and see the process, it's pretty hectic.

I've tried everything the last few months, managed to catch one using water by flooding the tunnels (relocated), the dogs caught another one and killed it, and there is still at least one that I've tried everything to get but no luck. Hence the drastic measures while having major second thoughts for any number of reasons.

Used phostoxin with great success but I don't have any pets.

You want to be a tool. I sincerely hope none of your pets get hold of the poisoned moles. It would be a shame for both the mole and your pet.

Let the moles be. What exactly are they destroying that needs such a heavy hand? Your lawn manicure?

Indeed. Hence my reluctance to use the stuff randomly and the point of my post. .

Glad to hear you are reluctant. Just don’t do it. Moles help in the long run for dispersion amongst other value to your lawn.

Do I eat meat? Sure, but not big on meat for as long as I remember. Had a vegetarian stint for a good couple of years.

Thanks for taking interest in my eating habits. I guess I know have to ask you too out of courtesy. Well do you eat meat?

After nearly a year and my lawn looking like the Somme, I’ve had enough. Sorry, but that’s how it is. I did relocate some we caught but this one won’t come quietly so I might have to get drastic.

Once every couple of weeks I guess. I have a mostly vegetarian family and the family business is a vegetarian restaurant. I don’t kill anything easily and killing the mole will be upsetting, but if it comes to that, that’s life I’m afraid. I really don’t need a moral lecture on it.
 
What happened to the combination of chlorine and brake fluid we used as kids?
