Quit new job within first month

Sounds lovely. Interview goes well, you get a good shiny and polished picture of the company, but when you start, you find that everything polished = turds :D Sucks if you can't get out quick enough.
 
Which reminds me - way back we got a new lady in software QA. Set up her domain account, PC and everything. She came in, started the induction etc, went home when we all left for the day, next day she didn't piched up - accepted a job offer at a different company in the mean...
 
Previous company I worked we had a new admin assistant that started working for us, she came in on her first day, did her work and left in the evening as per normal.

Never saw her again.

Boss contacted her to see if anything was wrong and apparently the job just wasn't for her

Cool story. Not nice working that kind of hours earning a pittance whilst getting reamed by customers and manglement at the same time...
 
No, no, not sure.

Why do I feel like the odd one out in this thread :/ Fortunate I guess.
 
Be nice to your new hire, even if they mess up, first day is make or break and results in how the candidate views the company, companies that throw candidates in the deep end too soon tend to scare good candidates away.
 
I only know of one guy that did it. Worked at a place for around 3 weeks then decided fsck this and quit.

Now he's a CA making $$$.

I've never asked but I doubt he puts it on his CV. :D
 
Wasn't working so was in the market for a job.
Interviewed very well at one place but the guy did mention they take awhile to process apps so I shouldn't be alarmed if I dont hear from them for awhile.

About 2 weeks passed and something else had come up,started the first day at a different place and as luck would have it i get a call on that morning saying "congratulations,job is yours if you want it"
I ended up going with the place that took long to get back to me

Edit: was a few years ago,moved on a few times since
