Right so I've decided its time to try and quit the game. Sub is still till the end of the month. Only kinda feel bad for the guys as I'm the Healing officer of my guild & I do the raid strategies.

What I have been wondering is if I should just let my acct lie inactive or sell it (In which case I think it would keep me from playing again longer :p )

So for you guys that do know about these things, how much would an acct like this be worth and where do one go to get 'rid' of it?

Main:
Resto Druid (Troll)
9/13 HC
Blackwing's Bane title and various other titles and raid mounts from this and previous expansions
Item level 370
OS Gear, Kitty mostly Heroic raid gear, gemmed and enchant, thou I never play it. so I guess +- 365 ilevel

Other toons:

85 Priest, ilevel 358 gear (nelf)

80 Mage (human)
80 Paladin (human)
77 Rogue (human)
68 DK (orc)
51 Hunter (nelf)
50 Warrior (undead)
44 Lock (noam)
22 Shaman (goblin)

Included with these toons are ALL BOA gear & the 80's being fully ICC geared.
+- 30k gold spread over toons, all on the same server.

Thx

Account would be worth a decent sum, but all those alliance characters kinda bliksemed the price down to around the R50 mark. Delete the alliance characters and watch your price rise ! :-p
Only thing to keep in mind is the next tier of raiding gear is coming, meaning all our precious heroic gear will be worth peanuts again.

Would be painfull to sell your character and 3 months along the line you want to play again... Unless you wanna make a clean break, I reckon its best to just park your character and see after a few months if you totally conquered your addiction. Firelands may just reignite that spark.

Instead of just selling, why not just take an extended break? A few months away from wow is always a good idea.
On the other hand, if you want good cash for your toons, you have to sell them now, while the gear is still appropriate and good. In a few months time it will be worth a lot less.
The account should be worth around R2k local but probably more internationally but sold at higher risk. Have a look on e-bay ;) plenty of accounts of similar geared toons...

Meh I couldnt ever sell my acc, even though I stopped 2 months ago with no intention of resuming

That char was my life for years, the titles and items collected unique and earned :(

Keep in mind if it's linked to your battle.net account, you're selling the whole thing, including Starcraft2 if you have that linked, and if you get Diablo3 you'll have to create a new BNEt account.

p.s. Been clean and dry for a couple months. Quitting WoW was the best decision I've ever made.

Ye u right, + Diablo 1, 2 and LOD is linked also so ye, guess I'm holding on

ps, I've quit before, but not for long :p

Bring on D3 already :) (regarding that I'll make a new thread I think)

I dont want to know what my account would go for as I had it since WOW start. Quit in Feb and have 9 x 85's Main is a Horde Warlock with 1030 Achievement points

Warlock x 2 85, 85 Both factions
Druid 85 Horde
Shamin 85 Horde
DK x 2 85, 80 Both Factions
Hunter 85, 80 Both Factions
Paladin x 2 85, 80 Both Factions
Mage x 2 85, 85 Both Factions
Warrior 20 <-- Bank alt with a guild bank on 6 tabs Filled with gems and mats for all levels and 200K Gold in bank

I had 3 wow accounts and dualboxed as well. Moved them all to 1 account before I canceled sub

Only problem is all my
Starcratf 1,2+ expansion and Warcarft1,2,3 + expansion and Diablo games are on the same account.

@ Elimentals, as far as I know the money is mostly for quality not quantity of toons. So having one main with heroic BIS gear and great achievements, mounts etc is what makes the big difference between the price according to sites I've found.

Nice acct thou :)

Trust me dont sell your account. Did that back when WoTLK hit. Leveled to 80 and sold my account. Now I wish every day I can have it back! I had lots of rare items om that account of that would be netherdrake done back then and a REAL war bear from ZA not the bull**** they have now.

Only having had my 3-4months of no wow to having to start a new account all over again :/

True, well 4 of my Horde toons have the ICC mounts(Drake) for hard mode achieves nevermind the 102 thats on my lock. Also all professions are on 525. I was in a very active Raid Guild on a US server. We did 3 separate raids a week, all of them was 2 days each. All my 80's killed the Lich king.

So what do you want to know then?

If I would sell it, what would I get for an account like that.... if the money is worth it I would actually think of doing it.

As mentioned before, buyers are looking for well geared chars that they don't have to invest months of play time into. Most accounts with only level 85s on it is bought as a second account or to someone starting out new and don't want to do the leveling grind. But in 99% of the time the account is worth a lot less than what you would think it is. Elimentals, I would imagine you getting around R1000 for your account, but that would not be worth selling it for. Under the old character transfer to a new account system, you could have transfered each level 85 and get R1000 for each.

Lotta people are burning out... Many guilds taking strain with raiders quitting.
I have been raiding for many years, and for me, the only way to maintain a balance that wont result in burnout is to raid no more than 3 nights a week, with 2 of them being week nights and 1 night on a weekend like sunday.

Most of the people burning out are people that committed to 4 / 5 nights raiding a week... it doesnt sound like much, but try and maintain to a raiding schedule like that, its hard, really really hard.

I pretty much dont log in at all on nights I dont raid, unless I am really bored, and there is nothing else to watch on TV.

"Casual" progression raiding is the sweet spot in this game. 3 nights MAX with solid progression... But in order to do this, those guilds tend to be very picky about who they take in.

I completely agree with this. Back in February I started guild hunting, and let me tell you, it wasn't easy finding a guild for the requirements back then, but I somehow ended up finding one that was even better than what I was looking for. Raid 3 days a week, Wed/Sun/Mon, 19:30-23:00 server time, leaving you enough sleep time in both winter and summer when their timezone changes and ours doesn't.

Right now, I am still amped to log in on raid nights to progress, we are only on 7/13 hc but we getting there. For the amount of days we raid, I think we are doing great.

True, thou when I really want to raid I don't really like playing at a more casual level or with people of allot lower skill level. Even now I have accepted to play at a way lower skilled guild than I'm used to and really want. (only 9/13 25man)

I guess what I really need again to stay dedicated is a top 150 25-man guild and they don't really come in the a 3 day a week package.

That was my problem, as I move to another time zone I had issues playing with my normal raid group. I tried to play with other groups but if you use to playing in a group that normally ranks in the top 10 on a 25 man level its painfull to try and play with "pugs".

Our only night off was Patch Tuesday, rest of the time we where in raid either with mains or practicing with alts.

I gave up with wow months ago since it got very boring tried again with 4.1.0 free 7 days, but kept making me bored when trying to play again. So guess wow's over for me until the next expansion and hopefully they add something interesting like Wotlk, BC and Normal had to keep me busy for years.

Well back to waiting for Diablo 3 and don't sell your account, cause you never know if the next expansion will be best ever. You will also be happy with money you saved from using on Subs.

I am kind of waiting for Guild Wars 2 :)

There is no way I will sell my account for less than the software that is on it If I got a offer of say R50K then I will do it, as dualbox (recruit a friend) leveling I can get 2 toons up to 85 within a month.
