Regardless, he is still published by a well respected (until recently) media house. He will get exposure, he will continue his comments and we will continue to be exposed to this racist rantings. Unfortunately no /ignore exists for journalists from published media.

That didn't come out right, it was a bit extreme. But people might view the fact that a professional is like Jon Q is allowed to get away with racism, as such it doesn't become such a bad thing for them to be racist in turn. Its a slippery slope is what I was trying to say.

I think the aim is to improve the previously marginalised jounalists , if you take a look at it they never got a chance under the old regime . They had to do it some time or the other . Qwelane is right for labelling those coconuts like Khosa .

I can't believe what I am hearing. So being black doesn't always make you previously disadvantaged - only YOUR type of black. If someone doesn't agree with you they aren't good enough? Bigot! You just use all these labels and double standards for your own benefit.

if you want to sell out then you have no say in our community , I think that is what Jon is trying to put across .
my view is that if a person meets the criterea then they should be able to make it into any club > criteria does not include your roots . If a person adresses the issues at hand then why not join . This mentality of fighting fire with fire is damaging , but you have to remember people are still defensive in this country .
i am against coconuts , because all they do is cause animosity between people in the long-run.
