R 20 per GB ADSL data bundles

So where is Cybersmart? Falling behind?

After this: article, I wonder why Cybersmart has not come up with a better offering for their "loyal but soon to jump ship" clients. Of which I am one. Simple. I will return their cheap-ass router, and simply plug in the even cheaper old Telkom router I have lying around somewhere. Come to the game, Laurie. Or it's goodbye-bye from me, and I guess many others...

I have been repeating that a few times here - but all the Telkom/ANC lovers here are not interested in that.
 
am i the only one confused whether or not this is INTERNAITONAL bandwidth ?

Why don't you stay with them since they will let you take part in an auction to bid for more data at a price you want to pay :sick: :erm: :D
 
These are all earth shacking moves (From an SA point) and are more than welcome, but it still has such a long way to go.

Does anyone know the price per gig on SEACOM bandwidth? Since we now have a uncapped option from it.

How long ago did Afrihost announce their offer? 2 months max I think, and we have had so many change already.

I want LLU but I want telkom to have just data lines and not the need for a home phone line as well, that will be the BEST news ever.

When the next cable arrives in mid 2010 + 4months to filter down and 7months of "backhaul issues fixed/added/ungraded etc."

WE WANT TIER I SUPPLIERS TO REDUCE THE PRICE!

Im an old time CS customer as well, on ADSL 384. I just emailed them for their uncapped offering. They came back saying that i can get uncapped 384 + line rental for R519 pm. Im not interested in their line rental so im just awaiting confirmation for their uncapped service only. Lets see.
 
Odracir, I sent them a suggestion in their auction box with a link to the MyISP ad, do not worry. Doubt that there will be a reply, though.

I have ADSL in the pavement right outside my front doot - but supporting telkom/ANC will only make things worse in the long run. You ADSL people are blinded by the here and now. That is why bandwidth in SA is still so expensive after all these years.

As can be seen from the website, MyISP has never catered for large packages. It's always been catering for the low users, hence the 250MB free packages. It's catering for the consumer market that actually doesn't use more than 3GB (and there are many of those).

My head is spinning, I think it i time to cancell my SAIX accounts. They dont make sense anymore and their local NNTP is meaningless at these prices.

And of course supporting Vodacom, who has shamelessly been involved in price fixing interconnect rates for years at the expense of the consumer, is better than supporting ADSL run by Telkom.

I believe cutting off your nose to spite your face is what you are doing at the moment. With a wireless knife.
