Hi Guys, I have come across this Smart Phone and I find it extremely interesting. So I thought I would post a thread here to gauge your responses.

Basically I am involved in procurement in the retail industry and I see an opportunity for a phone like this in South Africa. Potentially this phone will sell for R1999.99 with a 1 year guarantee. This is with a national retailer, who's name I can unfortunately not divulge. I have a sample unit that I have been playing with for a week now and I must say that I really do like this unit. It's quite a large phone and the screen size is the same as that of a Galaxy Note. It's a dual sim phone and and as you can see I am running Vodacom and Cell-C concurrently with my data coming from Cell-C and my voice from Vodacom. Battery life is quite impressive and I need to charge every second day or so. Keeping in mind that I am not using this as my primary phone.

Oh as an extra this comes with a pouch and an extra battery in the box.

Camera pictures are fairly good at 5MP... Will post some samples later.

So basically I would really like to hear from the "forumites" here. Would you consider buying one at R1999.99? What do you like/dislike?

Thanks a mil... (Oh yes and this is blatant free market research, but I know you guys enjoy this stuff as much as I do so most won't mind :D)

2K ?

Yep... you give it a nice warrentee and ill take that !

Esp if is on a data contract or something.. it would be like 99pm !

Sounds great to me. Currently carry 2 android phones anyway so wouldn't mind a dual sim and that look looks pretty capable.

I would also be interested in a phone like this

I would like this but rather have 2.5k version with a HD screen and 1gb ram also would be nice.

this phone uses the official google play store without rooting it etc?

Looks very similar to this one: link

( Though not the same )

If you can land that at R2k and include sales margin, that sounds like a seller!

Wifi? :)

Its a fake Galaxy Note 1...it looks exactly like a Note except its not a Note. Owning this as a primary phone would be embarassing to say the least.

Embarrassing? Why?

Not everybody needs their peen bolstered by branding :)

Wouldn't embarrass me one iota, it's just a phone for Pete's sake.

If you're the type to buy phones by how others judge you when you have it, get an iphone.

This looks great for the price, just don't know how well ICS will run with only 512MB RAM.

runs fine on htc one V , porblem one V is only have 384mb to use for apps , so chrome is tab slow and skype , otherwise is quite smooth , the rest of ram i used for the gpu.

A phone to me is simply about whether it does what I need, and how much it costs.

Could not even begin to express how little I care what its label is...

The point of the thread is its price.

Ok, well let me rather say that personally, I would never spend R2000 on a knock-off of anything no matter how great it may be. If this phone didn't look like a fake Note, it would get my thumbs up.

You own a iphone, right? I'm right, aren't I? :p

I own a Galaxy Note!!!:D If you want proof, look at my post history and you'll see my activity in the Note thread over the past couple of months.
