R5000 build

should i look at better memory too then?, he said i should look at maybe a gigabyte mobo

what about this one:

Intel Extreme Series, Skyberg, Intel P45, LGA775, FSB1333, 4xDual DDR3 1333, 2xPCI-x16 (Crossfire), 3xPCI, 2xPCI-x1, 5xSATA2(Raid,0,1,5,10), 1xeSATA, Gbe Lan, 8ch-Sound, Max 12xUSB, 2xIEEE1394, ATX

R 1,386 incl.

but i read somewhere your fsb should be 1600

The gigabyte odin power supply lie about their wattage. I don't know why people keep recommending them. The odin gts are ok though.

That cooler master 550watt is a good power supply.

My bad. You chose a cooler master case. Don't get that hunt key power supply. Even a 460watt cooler master would be better.

what about the motherboard?
please guys i need help here and i dont know what im doing, what size power supply would i need to run that system?

The E7400 is nice, but are you sure you dont want to go quad core?

did my homework and apparently the E7400 is the better bet for gaming, and its cheaper, so value for money i think its right,

what size power supply should i be looking at, can anyone help? and is the intel mobo a good choice?

try get the q6600. apparently its super sexy

I went for the same system as he's thinking of going, only I went for the Q8200 (more for video editing and such). it's runing at 2.8ghz with the p5kl/1600 mobo, I like the mobo actually :D, was easy to overclock with :). um, yeah, basically I think the mobo will be fine, if the E7400 has a 10.5 multiplier, then if you raise the fsb to 333mhz(1333mhz), you get 3.5 ghz on that cpu, if you go all the way to 400mhz fsb (1600mhz), you will get 4.2 ghz (which will need a massive cooler :p ). you should be more then happy with your system :)

isn't the Q8200 just a few points shy of the Q6600? Unless you overclocking, and I'm not gonna go further then 2.8ghz with this cpu anyways :)

Hey Scotty...also considering that mobo for an upcoming build(GF's pc :D). So you recon its pretty solid and gives decent OCing...?

it goes up to 400 mhz fsb, so if you go with an E7xxx range cpu then you can overclock quite a lot, however, I would recommend going with a better mobo if you actually want to overclock properly... I don't really care, I just oc to get a little extra out me cpu... But yeah, I got the mobo more for the crossfire (for R740 you can't complain :D) then the overclocking.
