R9 290 what brand?

XFX is a good brand, they make some excellent cards with good overclocks! And their cooling is amazing (like most). They are very value orientated. Giving a decent overclock, with decent cooling, at a value for money price. Although the PowerColor brand in RSA takes the cake for value for money. Overseas there are a few other brands as well, like HIS. If I were you, I'd contact all the suppliers (Wootware, Rebeltech, Phoenixtech, Landmark) directly to determine when they will have stock available. Also, with the R9 290 look for aftermarket cooling (you might have seen this in the reviews), but if above 90 degrees doesn't bother you during gaming, then it's all good.

Wait for non reference cooler design. This ard runs hot and will throttle like crazy
 
Wootware is sold out on powercolor , it is best brand as it is near 100% unlock rate to R9 290x !!

I am getting mine on friday , from taiwan , one of the first batches that still unlocks. ( second hand got it for 5k shipped)

The new batches seems to be locked now.

Im getting mine next week. Took the Gigabyte OC one, getting from local dealer so i can return it if somehting pop's
 
All the R9 290 boards are reference boards i.e. they are all the same. The components like caps etc are made by differnet suppliers but the board design is exactly the same.

Where you from Myboom? I knew a guy who called his WoW char something very similar.
