what did say after that with respect to the 30-40kw
I don't know, "what did say after that"? Strong mushroom post.
It's ok to be wrong saturnz, there's is nothing wrong with admitting it.

Why? I was by no means bragging. R 150k seems to be a lot of money for Saturnz...
a 150k on a polo is not a lot of money, okay then
how many people on this forum do you think spent 150k on a polo? Infact I don't think any petrolhead would willingly spend 150k on a polo that goes nowhere and achieves very little
but you are that special petrolhead with a R2m house and 2 cars thats nearly paid up.

Yup it is forced induction which is precisely why I mentioned reliability.
You could easily make it a 1000kw motor if you wanted to...except it would only last about 5 seconds.
so please ask SauRoNZA how he would easily make this engine a 1000kw motor, you interrogate me about 3 times the power by upping the boost but forget that SauRoNZA was speaking about easily increasing the power by much more than that
you sure are the consistent one, I will give you that
as I said, you got lots of time on your hands, arguing for others
You got lots of time to talk k@k.

Sounds like an admission of guilt to me. Not pretty, but I'll take it.
+1
well you can't argue with the "you either with us or against us" logic, if you can call it that
A200 is not a hot hatch.
But the A45 AMG 2.0 turbo which makes a 110kW & 100NM more than the standard A220 2l model is.
Wrt the rest of the discussion:
Getting another 30kW out of the stock 2l Merc engine should be easily attainable and without and any risks (except your warranty & insurance).
If one has a look at the 1.8l M271 engine used in several C class models you would have three or four models (C180, C200, C230 etc) all using the same engine but with different boost levels giving higher power output for the bigger model numbers. Besides just changing boost the compression level also changes (head gasket) as well as the ecu mappings & injectors. These things have forged steel connecting rods etc so a bit of extra boost is not gonna harm the engine taking a C180 to C230 level.
I reckon 30kW extra from a forced induction A200 should be easy with no risk to the engine mechanicals IF done right (increasing fuel delivery etc in conjunction with more boost). Your MB warranty & insurance claims is a different story though.

+1. I would only do it when the warranty expires.
Hi Nimz, still enjoying the car? I am in the same conundrum as you with mine, whether to mod or not. I decided to wait a while until the warranty expires before doing it. From what I have read, the Racechips are pretty good and the claims they make are excellent but whether that translates into actual performance is another thing altogether. I will probably mod in 2016 - hopefully there will be some good mods by then.
If not, I need a cheap Toyota 86RWD madness
