Anyone using it or had experience with it?
Looks like a really cool case, but seems a bit on the small side.

Looking at either the Raidmax or Sniper Scout Series case.

Looked at some videos for the Raidmax, case, everything seems a bit crowded in there, so not too sure.

Anyway, please discuss :)

I'll include the details for my little rig in case its needed to help me with a choice:

Biostar P43|E7400 @ 2.8GHz|4GB Kingston DDR-2 800MHz|GeForce 8800 GTS 320mb|1x1TB Samsung SataII, 1x250GB Seagate SataII|
|Samsung 2233GW|500 watt PSU|Windows XP x32, Win7 RC1 x64, Kubuntu 9.04|

EDIT:

i got one, paid R900 7 months ago at BT Games.

Very nice case, my 4870X2 which is supposed to run very hot runs between 55-60 something degrees or something - never got close to the reported 90 degrees which some reported, and said it was "normal".

Love the case but it is quite snuggly - if you have a big 3d card like me, it basically takes away 1 of the HDD bay's area - I have 3 underneath and 1 lying on top, in the bottom 5 1/4" bay.

removable mobo tray, very good cooling, nice looking case, extra "kit" with accessories & screws which slides into the bottom part of the case, screwless design, and removable hdd bays (the whole thing rotates 80 degrees and pops out) - so very nice, but not for guys that have 5 or more HDD's - would become a hastle.

I received mine with ALL of the needed fans at BT, unlike some palces where you have to buy them separately.

did I mention good cooling?

It goes at around the R1000 mark. I would rather get a CM590 or CM690 chassis. They have better airflow

The Smilodon just looks cooler :D
But will take it under consideration :)

Sounds good, but looking at BTGames' site, doesn't show that they retail those cases...

Yeah got HDD's and will possibly get a 3rd as well, so should not be too much of an issue.
If I get more, I'll just throw a little server together.

Isn't the Smilodon like seriously old? Or is there a newer version? I have the one in the OP's link, bought one like 2-3 years ago from Prophecy for like R700. Great case, i went for it because of the whole "Screwless" setup, everything simply clicks in and slide out, great if you want to replace stuff.

Only thing i can complain about is the front "door" [covering your DVD Drive/Start Buttons/USB ports/Front Audio Ports etc] . It's kinda in the way as you can't access anything while it's closed, so i end up having it open all the time. It's particularly annoying if you actually use the front audio port at the bottom, then you have the entire door permanently hanging open and quite a few times it blocked my DVD drive from ejecting etc. But i guess this is an issue with alot of cases with the front-door design, however i know some at least add flaps/panels/gaps for the USB/Audio ports [or at least don't cover it].

Well if it is "old" I'll be finding it for cheaper ;)

Also keen to see the screwless design in action.
Something I've been trying to find on the net is for the cable management in that sucker.
I can't get to grips with how the HDD's get power :p

Saw a youtube video of a guy's rig, but then got distracted by vodka and cranberry :D
Will check it out again when I get home...

"3DGAMEMAN" has awesome videos. also look for "TigerDirect" on youtube.

The Smilodon came out like 2006, look at the dates of your Youtube reviews etc.

2006 or not, it's still one good looking chassis IMO....

Imo I'd get the Coolermaster 690 >.> Been eyeing it out for a while now, just can't seem to find one with a see through side panel.

I have the Smilodon extreme black edition - Very nice case!

What I really like about the case is the solid build quality; it is a pretty heavy case due to this, but solid never the less.

I have never had a problem with regard to space, but I guess if you going to throw 5 or 6 drives in it you going to run out. Cooling is great, I have even disconnected 2 of the fans on the case and still have no problems.

The removable mobo tray for me was a god send, makes life so much easier, even when it comes to cleaning.

Overall I would recommend this case, its build quality for me is great and it looks cool.
Just be careful of what you clean the see through plastic with as it scratches pretty easily so use a soft cloth.

Well yea, i still have mine afterall. It's just concerning that it is more expensive now than like 3 years ago...these things should get cheaper imho.

Cases are not the kind of hardware that loose value like Gfx cards etc. It makes perfect sense that it is still around the same price.

Nice looking case the Raidmax... Buuuuut, do they have dust filters? I'm a bit obsessive about dust getting into my pc >.>
