Rain 5G Black Friday special

The appeal here though is the uncapped. I got tired of having to switch off one router, and then switch and connect the other router to switch between RAIN and MTN. But yeah, MTN speeds are really good on there fixed LTE-A
Get yourself a mikrotik and then write a nice little script and it will switch between the two automatically. What i did when i was on the R250 one.

Just some brains are needed for the scripting and etc plus mikrotik can be hella complicated

I went down a similar route and then I ran out of plug points so stop bothering for about a week before I got the rain phone call. My data usage needs meant I paid roughly R800 a month and still had to watch my data usage in those 5 hours rain 4G isn't uncapped

I never dipped into my capped time although i made it switch at 5:59 and come back at 23:01 just so that i was on the safe side. Just yeah 3 plugs are needed and its a fair amount of wires. Glad with the 5G its all simple for me now.

Yeah and I have the benefit of now using a 4k TV without worrying about data

Submitted my subscription a month ago, based on a friends who live a kilometer away from me, got an email saying "
Thanks for your interest in rain's 5G for home.
Our 5G network is growing every day. So, hopefully it won't be too long before there's coverage in your area, and we can invite you to stream big on your unlimited data network."

How do i get sighed up, special or no special?

You need to wait until there is coverage in your area

Any Rain reps on this forum?? I need someone to call me as I am having some issues, please. Their call centre is an effup, so is the live chat, and they do not answer e-mails, aka telkom.

I'm in this same boat of paying R800 a month and switching between sims and watching data like a hawk too. Sadly I don't see anything better on the horizon that suits my needs and I am covered. No fibre or even ADSL. Wireless is the only way.

Yeah it makes it really rough, especially if you want to watch 4k TV or your xbox games have updates and you wont be able to play because you cant download those updates without possible issues. This 5G uncapped for me is proper freedom

Do those who got the original 5G offer get to keep the router even if they cancel?

Seems that all 5G Rain packages from now on will be a contract package... Either way, I am paying R900 per month for unstable 8Mbps ADSL. I have already ordered my Rain 5G and do not mind the contract.

I have also read on their website, the 5G CPE is network locked to Rain's network.
