Plus in 2 years time the cost of 5g compared to now :)
 
Perhaps they should update the article, as it doesnt mention the contract

They even say rain only has one 5g product, the old one didnt have a contract so that is 2 products
 
Eish - yea - the contract part is not cool. Although they are also aware that 5G may not land in this country in the next 2 years given how slow the spectrum process is. So they reckon if you want 5G you don't have any other choice. I still think the deal is great and all only that ... it's not what the masses want.
 
Well I see why they made the contract. They procure the device at R5500 and sells uncapped data 24/7 at R1000 per month with average speeds ranging from 300-600Mbps. Giving away the router for free simply is not an option that means they lose R5500 each time and then people cancel 3 months later and keep the CPE.

I'm pretty sure they will allow you to buy it like before for R3250.

The Real Blackfriday deal was the CPE for R1000 once off and monthly sub for the early adopters.

Yea its just warning that with 4G you can fix weak signal pretty easily with antenna but with 5G you might run into problems
 
The early cancellation fees during the 24 months are still cheaper than buying the router outright, so whichever way you look at it, it's cheaper than the previous offering.

Nonsense.
If you buy the router outright then you can sell it at any time, and considering how new the technology is in addition to the very high demand you could get back at least 80% of asking price within 6 months.

So, no...not at all a cheaper option. You paying a fortune for the use of the device...p*ssing your money away.
In the first month alone you paying R1600 for it's use!

The small print is that you never actually own the router. When you cancel, you give the router back. If you can't you pay a R5500 penalty.
