Yeah i do not then understand how i get such low upload speeds when im so close to the tower , plus having it mounted on the roof facing the tower.

At -91dB you are not as close as you might think. It's about 1km give or take from the tower.

I have identical stats as you -91dB and I get between 20-30Mbps upload but I'm on the upper level so that is likely why. I know where the tower is but I can't see it because of the trees and buildings blocking it.

If I go and stand next to the tower I get 650Mbps download so I know my speeds are directly related to signal.

Signal Intensity: (-91 dBm) - This refers to the signal , almost like a line of sight ( the higher the number is due to trees etc. )
Signal Quality: (12 dB) - This refers to the strength of the signal

Signal intensity you want to be lower 70s ideal. Signal quality higher is better. Although as we have proven it is not really a good barometer for speeds in the case of RAIN 5G offering.

Speaking of signal. Mine just tanked. From being in the low 70's for almost a year now thanks impart to the numerous excursions onto my double story roof top. Today it decides to go into the 90's. So bloody frustrating. I am in touch with engineers.

I kept on running into issues with the internet connectivity dropping. Came to have a look at this thread and only then realized the NSA -> SA switch, a massive blessing as a terrible 4G connection kept on interrupting my connection before. At first my router kept switching between the two modes. I now have it locked on SA and wow, the upload speed has just about doubled. Unfortunately the download speak won't break 150mbps now when it was reaching 500mbps before. My upload and ping are great (albeit unstable), the download is not.

I have pretty good signal stats - My signal intensity is usually around -67dBm with a quality of 10dB. My CPE seems to be bouncing between towers though as the intensity changes quite a bit throughout the day. I have messed around with the antenna index values and none of them provide an improvement (beyond the index I was using with NSA), some decrease performance of course. In saying this, it seems more stable on one tower with a fixed index. According to the website, I only really connect to a tower 300m from me but my signal stats don't always back this up. The CPE is on the roof with a direct line of sight to the tower, not a single tree in between - it is quite literally 4 houses away from my own. The attached screenshots were captured within a 10 minute window, showing how the CPE changes signal stats when not fixed - this happens to a lesser degree when it is (it still happens though).

Any ideas as to what is going on and why my speeds are now so low with such an erratic ping even on a fixed antenna mode? I contacted support a while ago but have not heard anything back. My last encounter with a technician was horrible - had to set the whole system up and just sorta brute force the setup because he left after delivery.

i get -75 on the signal and 1.7Km away from the tower
Uploads are around 120mbps so yeah just from place to place is all i can say.
There is a tower that is 300meters away although behind a few trees so i dont connect to it

It's on a pole above the roof so moving it isn't really an option - I have rotated it and tried different towers but the signal stats for the one 300m away with direct line of sight are the best by far. My signal stats have remained exactly the same as earlier (around -70) but now I'm down to 60mbps down and 10mbps up on the same tower. The insane fluctuations seem to point to network issues on their side. Hopefully they actually respond to the ticket I put in a while ago.

It's painfully ironic considering I can look at a good 2 or 3 towers within 1km of me when standing on my roof (the rain website agrees with these tower positions). This is even with the antenna index set to auto so it can change towers incase the closer ones are down. Fiddling with other index values to force a different direction have done nothing. SA mode is filled with hope but so far the transition has been nothing but painful for me.

Which unit are you using? Indoor?

I'm using the new outdoor unit - I got it a couple of months ago. We switched from the old combo unit (with the Q2) to this single unit outdoor CPE. It points directly at a tower which is 300m away on an apartment building (around 2 or 3 storey's higher). I've messed around with tilting it to face slightly upwards towards the tower but that doesn't change anything. A longer pole also seems to make no difference - I actually had a 2m pole originally. No trees or buildings, direct line of sight.

Could the issue have to do with the tower not being properly optimized for SA operation? We had very few issues before this NSA to SA conversion, reaching speeds of up to 500mbps around 5am. Same tower, same positioning.

Well, was switched over to SA last night.

Seems I am connecting to the Reeds tower (cnr Bothrill and Sacharia)
Speed is currently good - will have to see if it lasts ....
Ping is horrible - hope that improves or get fixed.

Seems that this is still a story of 2 tales - and I think towers is over loaded
First thing in the morning - hardly anybody is on, as the day progresses, everyone jumps on, and speeds go for a ball of s%@t.

Yup. This is the issue in general. Network saturation. Have also been told as much by the engineers.

In fairness though there has been a notable difference for me in terms of signal stability and upload speeds with migration to SA.

It died had to change my settings to NSA so I can use 4G its still down even now.

Last night was out so I unplugged everything just incase. Storm cam through now signal was quite good actually. Did a few speed tests and although not blown away by speeds there was nothing to really indicate that there was storm in the area.

(i'm getting worried when i see 11mbit speedtests on a service that is suppose to be 5G) I mean normal 4G ISP's can do 70mbit and 80mbit with ease. 4G+ does over 100mbit to 120mbit easily. So 5G must be minimum double that to be an consideration to be fair. 250mbit must be minimum for 5G. If your getting less... your being taken for ruff ride.

Turns out there was no electricity at the tower that I was connected to and I guess they do not have back up power for their 5G equipment.

But I am connected to 5G now and I'm getting +270Mbps down and +70Mbps up

NSA (non stand alone) blended 4G/5G.- SA (stand alone) 5G only. You should be on SA.
