You would think by now that after a year RAIN would have its act together on 5G side. Line was running fine even at and average of 160Mbps which I was happy with and which is far below the advertised 200Mbps.

Since December RAIN in all their wisdom has gone and made things worse somehow. Now sitting on a average of 119Mbps. Install has not moved an inch since the last time I had three technicians on my roof getting the best signal. I suspect they have re-orientated the tower. So sick of complaining!

Hi @PAYBACK

Please provide me with your email via PM and i will investigate the matter for you

I had 4g up until November last year. 5G became available in my area so I wanted to upgrade, I phoned the rain support and asked what were the procedures. They told me that I had to cancel my current 4G and order the 5G. That cancellation happened at the end of the month (November) and I've received a confirmation email to say that my sim will be cancelled and the last billing for that sim will be on the 1st December (the cancellation was with immediate effect). In addition to that, I had to make an upfront payment to order the 5G service. So on 1 December, my cancelled 4G was paid and I made the upfront payment for 5G to get the order going. Everything went well up until the beginning of January when an additional payment was deducted for the month of December. Did anyone experience this?. I have logged calls with Rain support but it seems they feel that I was billed correctly.

Hi @makes30

My current "Premium" experience. This has pretty much been the case since 23 December now. To give people some context this time last year was averaging around 300Mbps with peaks in the mid 400's.

A nice visual of RAIN 5G performance since I first got the product November 2019. Completely erratic and as mentioned degraded over time to what I have now.

Testmy.net test. Regardless of what it is saying at these speeds my whole internet experience has gone to a ball of ****. Intermittent YouTube and Netflix buffering, line keeps dropping.

Question. have never had a issue with online gaming but COD now not playable with pings maxing out at 999. Even at these speeds surely there shouldn’t be an issue. Is RAIN spoofing speeds somehow?

I think they need to pay you back :)

On a more serious note, really great stats you have showing others just how crap this service is (not to mention the numerous threads with complaints).

Personally i would have loved to take up this service, if it delivered.

Hoping they sort you out and you come right.

Just get supersonic fixed lte, same price. MTN 4g networks keeps up RAIN 5G lol

What sorts of speeds do you get and is the ping stable? I've given up on Rain 5G and they also disconnected me from their 4G network this week so their router is just a paperweight. Busy cancelling the 5G Home Premium. I'm in the middle of the 5G coverage zone with several towers 1km or less away but get 0mbps on 5G half the time and I've never seen upload speeds over 1mbps when it has worked.

I get 160mbps very stable . Some users reports up to 200mbps. The speed is limited due to router limitations. The fastest router they allow is the b618

Thanks. That's all I need to know. Was thinking about going with Rain 4G for R479pm but the 10mbps limit is a bit low and who knows if it will actually achieve that most of the time.

Edit: Order done. Now just waiting for Rain to call. Put in my cancellation.
