I live on a farm and has been for the last 6 years, We had no internet coverage as ADSL lines kept been stolen and as such Telkom just stopped replacing them. Eventually Telkom LTE 4G came around but we were about 2 KM outside of the coverage according to their map. We got the Telkom LTE anyway and experienced full speeds. Then Rain Came along with 4G and we switched as Telkom Throttled way to much, again we were 2km away from coverage but chanced it and low and behold we experienced full speeds. However Rain Throttles streaming and since we shared the line with the neighbour we got tired of buffering. Then along came Rain 5G. We decided to chance it again. We are 2 KM away from the coverage area and 3 KM away from the closest tower. We got the Standard package and get the full 50 MB Download speed, however the upload Speed is only 0.3 MB to 1.5 MB. Is this just a setting on my PC or the Router or is this the product of being outside coverage area? Any thoughts and ideas as to why the upload speed is so slow and a possible fix?
This does not affect streaming at all and I can watch two 1080P streams at the same time however it does affect my Online gaming via PC.

If you are able to convince them to give you a outdoor cpe it will definitely enhance the upload.

Do you have the external unit with an antenna?
The short answer here, is the tower has a way bigger antenna and therefore more signal gain to go further, where your little routers output gain (upload) is small and will cause this.

It actually came with the indoor Router. I actually put on top my chimney just to see if I get better speeds but it was worse. The best signal I get is if it is on my stoep or by my lounge window. If the Outdoor Router will work better I will ask them If I can have that instead. Thanks for the reply.

Location here is not the key thing but rather the power of the unit, especially the antenna.

You can also get external antenna from Poynting if your router has external antenna capabilities.
