I upgraded from 4G to 5G. Big mistake. Ping 80ms. Download 1.16mbps. Upload 0.18mbps. (Mybroadband speed test). It's also significant that Rain has retired their support@rain email address and the only option left for subscribers is the telephone hotline. I tried the number on 2 occasions and waited 30 minutes with no answer. Should we be taking this provider seriously?

Hi @Michael Kruger

Please provide me with your email via PM https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/conversations/add?to=rain_mobile

You can msg them on forum they reply quickly, first to see if can improve your signal by moving router outside
And then? When I had this junk They responded quickly, even had a technician at my house adjusting everything, and still in the evenings we struggled to get more than 5mbs on a R999/m premium package.

You might be paying for 5g but definitely not getting 5g.

I'm still getting around 300-500mbps down after 2 years and 50mbps up

Yes, but your rear must be totally radioactive now from all that tower-sitting.

Moved last weekend from roodepoort to fourways. Still getting the same speed.

I think the rain issues is more to do with rural areas since there is no fibre. The only reason I have it was because there wasn't fibre in the complex. I can see how the people with no access to fibre might also be living in areas where there's rubbish signal.

Its not about rubbish signal always, I had great signal, in fact I had 3 towers that I could connect to. 3am in the morning I could do a speed test and get 500mbs. Then during peak times I could barely open google. There towers are mostly overloaded.
