Tested this during loadshedding and it worked, so i don't know if the fallback happens automatically, or you'll have to restart the router. 30min after loadshedding i was still connected to 4g, to connect to 5G i had to restart. Its good to have the 4G option though.

In theory if the router is set to "Auto (SA/4G)" it should work if the 4G tower is indeed the closest after your 5G tower goes down. Reconnecting automatically back to 5G is another story as I haven't been present to see that happen yet.

So after ~46 days my closest 5G tower (900m) is finally back online. After having to use 2 towers over 3km away it feels like I have upgraded my internet again.

Is it possible to test premium rain 5g speed on a basic package (30mbps)? I vaguely remember this being possible at some stage?

Have you tried another spot in your house? Maybe the tower you normally connect to is down.

There's only 1 tower servicing my area. Same tower as always, same spot in the house. Nothing has changed on my side. I can't really move the router as there is a switch and some other network kit and office equipment all in the same area.
