Long-range forecasts show a major frontal system passing over most of the southern half of SA during the last few days of September (Sat 28th to Mon 30th). This will bring widespread moderate rain and very cold conditions over the Western and Northern Cape, with snow over many mountain ranges. Note that it will not push as far north over KZN as last week's blizzard drama. Chart up to midnight on Sun 29th:

Snow on the Kamiesberg? Yoh!

It's still early days, but several recent model runs show snow on Table Mountain during the evening of Sun 29th, with the freezing level below 1000m, particularly in the Overberg and Swartberg early on Mon 30th (not shown). See:
